Eugene Bass has been missing from Pontiac, Michigan, since May 23, 2019. He is originally from Lansing.

Eugene is 42 years old, stands about 5' 11" tall, weighs approximately 250 lbs, has black hair, and brown eyes. He may have been wearing a red shirt, black zip up jacket, and blue jeans.

Witnesses observed Eugene Bass sitting in a vehicle with another subject prior to hearing several gunshots. The vehicle was later recovered and blood was found inside. Since this incident, no one has had any reported contacted with Bass.

It’s been nearly a month since Eugene Bass, 42, went missing in Pontiac. On May 23, at approximately 1 p.m., he was seen sitting in a silver SUV with an unidentified man. No known contact has been reported since.

It’s believed Bass was injured or possibly killed. The sound of gunfire was heard coming from inside the SUV before it left the scene, WDIV reports.

According to the National Institute of Justice’s NamUs, a missing persons database, the vehicle has been recovered with suspected blood in the interior.

Suspect charged in killing of former Lansing man

PONTIAC - An Oakland County man has been charged in connection with the killing of a former Lansing man.

Paul Anthony Hall, 46, faces murder and weapons charges in the shooting of Eugene Bass, whose body has not been recovered, the Oakland County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.

Police believe the 42-year-old Bass was shot inside a sport-utility vehicle parked in a Pontiac driveway on May 23. They found the vehicle at a different location with a large amount of blood still inside.

 
Plea deal in the works for alleged killer of Eugene Bass of Lansing, body not yet recovered

A plea deal is being discussed for a Pontiac resident charged with the murder of a Lansing-area man — who’s body hasn’t been recovered.

Paul Anthony Hall, 47, is facing homicide and multiple other charges related to the slaying of Eugene Bass, 42. Prosecutors believe Hall shot Bass on May 23, 2019 in Pontiac and either disposed of his body or had someone else do it.

Oakland County Circuit Court records show a plea/settlement is in the works for Hall. It's possible terms of the plea deal could include disclosing the location of Bass' body.

The plea hearing was scheduled for Feb. 27. I can't find a follow up report on the outcome. I hope he gave them the info they need to find Eugene's remains.
 
Skeletal Remains Of Long-Missing Lansing Man Found In Pontiac Park

The skeletal remains of 42-year-old Eugene Bass were discovered Monday by Oakland County Sheriff's deputies at Galloway Lake Park, located at 1470 N. Perry in Pontiac, after the OCOS said it received information on the location.
While a positive identification using dental records is pending, officials say they do believe it is Bass' body.
 
It appears from the wording in this article that the skeletal remains have been confirmed as belonging to Eugene Bass. Also, his NamUs profile has been removed.

Paul Anthony Hall, 47, on Wednesday entered a no contest plea in Oakland County Circuit Court in the disappearance and death of 42-year-old Eugene Bass.

In a deal with prosecutors, Hall agreed to plead to second degree, court records show, rather than going to trial on a charge of first degree murder.

Bass' skelatal remaons were found last month by at Pontiac's Galloway Lake Park, after the Oakland County Sheriff's Office said it received information on the location.
