Crime Stoppers offers cash reward in Jina Collins case

FLINT (WJRT) -
(04/02/14) - Crime Stoppers is now offering a cash reward for information that helps police find 19-year-old Jina Collins.
She was last seen in Flint on New Year's Eve - Dec. 31. A Flint Police detective is now assigned to the case too. That is also new.
"Her baby needs her desperately," said Donalee Ward, Collins' mother. "He cries for her every day.

For Jennifer White, sister of 19-year-old Jina Collins who went missing Dec. 31, 2013, the event provided hope and empathy knowing other people are going through what she is.
"I'm so thankful for this event. It's good to know other people have felt the same feelings, the not knowing. That's the worst pain in the world. Not knowing what happened, not having answers," White said. "It gives us a chance to show that the missing are not forgotten, and to hopefully find answers."

It's the one year anniversary of her going missing and they are still no closer to finding her. She has a 2 year son who needs his mom. Where could she be?

Last New Year's Eve, Collins vanished from somewhere near Pettibone and Fenton Road on Flint's south side.

"We don't know anything. We don't. All we know is that she is missing," White said.

Since then, there have been a lot of sleepless nights for White, who now cares for Collins' 2-year-old son.

"It's hard to take care of him and know his mom is out there missing. I hurt for him, I do," White said.

White is convinced that someone knows something but won't speak up.

Elizabeth Land was last seen in February of 2009 in Flint after leaving to meet up with a friend at a local bar.

New Year's Eve marks 4-year anniversary of Jina Collins' disapperance

FLINT (WJRT) - (12/31/17) - For many people New Year's Eve is a time to celebrate the future.

But for one Mid-Michigan family it's a painful reminder that one of their loved ones still hasn't been found.

Jina Collins disappeared Dec. 31, 2013. Her family has not given up hope.

"The last time she was seen between 10:00 and 11:00 on New Year's Eve night off of Fenton Road and Pettibone," said Jennifer White, Collins' sister.

Collins was 19-years-old when she vanished. She was wearing jeans, boots and a hoodie and was last seen near a party store with friends.

Collins' son was just two when his mom disappeared.

Human remains found in November 2017 in Broome Park not too far away from where Collins was last seen, definitely stirred up old emotions for her sister.

"We just want closure so whatever it may me we just want to bring her home. It doesn't matter at this point. Four years is a long time," White said.

White said she did provide dental records to authorities for the Broome Park investigation.

WOW I just looked at this list from a year or more ago and none of the women found....all from one area

This case hasn't gotten much attention. At this point I think it goes without saying that Jina and the other women were victims of a serial predator. The Flint PD must have reached the same conclusion.

There is compelling evidence that a serial killer is operating in the Flint, Michigan, area. The cops are denying it, so I wouldn't be surprised if local law enforcement got involved and pressured Websleuths into deleting that thread.

Body found in Flint is woman who went missing in 2013, police say

The woman’s body that was found in an abandoned building on Lapeer Road near Dort Highway last month has been identified as Jina Collins, a woman who went missing in 2013.


Flint Police Chief Terence Green confirmed the woman’s identity to MLive-The Flint Journal during the afternoon hours on Wednesday, June 15.


Michigan State Police found the remains of Collins around 9:30 a.m. Thursday, May 26. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The department is asking anyone with information on the incident to contact Detective Warren Williams at 810-237-6977.



Collins was reported missing on Dec. 31, 2013. She was last seen on Flint’s south side near Pettibone Avenue and Fenton Road.



Crime Stoppers of Flint and Genesee County is still looking for information regarding her unsolved case.
