Body found in pond at Oak Hill Apartments

Police recovered the body of a female that was found floating in a pond this morning at a Shelby Township apartment complex.

Police are not yet providing much additional information on the situation...

There was a report of a missing, endangered 18-year-old woman who was last seen at the apartment complex in late September...

Update on WDIV 5:00PM report: No identity of victim yet, but LE does not believe foul play involved in the woman's death.

Her mother has posted to FB (on the Michigan Missing website) - confirmed to be Madyson. :(

It is with a very heavy heart that I have to say today my beautiful, amazing, caring, loving daughter Madyson Carolyn Redpath-Kirkwood is no longer with us. Her body was found and recovered this morning in a pond at the Oak Hill Apartments in Shelby Twp. where She went missing from on 9-22-16. It is yet to be determined if there was any foul play. Thank you everyone for your support and help in trying to locate her.
 
...The female’s identity has not yet been confirmed, Schmittler said. An official cause of death has not yet been determined by the Macomb County Medical Examiner’s Office, he added.

“It’s all still under investigation,” Schmittler said.

Last month, Shelby Township police were looking for 18-year-old Madyson “Mady” Redpath-Kirkwood, who was reported missing from Oak Hill Apartments. At that time, police indicated she was considered endangered, but later said they no longer considered in as endangered.

Schmittler would not comment on whether the body is that of the missing woman.

Police anticipate releasing additional information on Thursday...

Still no MSM confirmation, but statement from mother and LE comments in this article lead in the direction of this being Madyson.
