GUILTY MI - Rebekah 'Becky' Bletsch, 36, Muskegon County, 29 June 2014

On June 29, 2014 Rebeka was murdered. One year later we are still looking for answers. There is a good video of WoodTV talking with the lead detective and scenes of the murder. LE says it's not a cold case. They recently went back and reexamined everything. LE thinks over time, relationships change and maybe someone might come forward. There is still a $10,000 reward offered by her family.

Police want anyone with information to call the Muskegon County Sheriff's Office Detective Bureau or Muskegon County Silent Observer at (231) 724-6658 or Silent Observer at (231) 72-CRIME. A $10,000 reward is being offered in the case.

Hmmm. From the link above

"It is possible, sometimes the dynamics of a relationship change,"

I need to go back and Reread Becky's thread. This poor woman.

Do you ever wonder what the bruises on her wrist were from? How long were they there for? Were they there before the incident or during? If she was shot from far away wouldn't those bruises be from something else?

Maybe an attempted abduction? And she got away and was running? Unless, as you said, they were old bruises...

I still don't think it's random & I think eventually someone close to her will be arrested.

The arrest of Jeffrey Willis in the kidnapping of a teen girl has led police to consider his possible involvement in other cases, including the murder of jogger Rebekah Bletsch and missing Jessica Heeringa, said the Muskegon County sheriff.

This makes perfect sense. This guy used a gun in the kidnapping of the teen. Maybe Becky was shot by this guy as she fought him off.

Muskegon County Undersheriff Daniel Stout said the evidence seized makes Willis a suspect in Heeringa’s disappearance and Bletsch’s homicide, but he would not reveal specifically what investigators found that led them to that conclusion.

“The weapon is a similar model that would have shot the bullets in the Bletsch case,” Stout said. “Similar … but similar is a big word.”

Thanks for the updates colette, I check on this case often, last time just a few days ago so its good to see some potential progress. Now I'm wondering what they found at his place besides the gun that makes him a suspect in the two unsolved. News clippings perhaps? There's another case I found while looking at Rebekas where a female was found, I think next to a river but it was an older case and from what I remember a good ways south of norton shores. I guess now we wait on the ballistics to see if that will tell them anything.

This Willis guy looks credible for her murder. . .

He was in trouble at the school he worked for in 1999 for viewing *advertiser censored* on the school computer and showing to a student. He was filming women in a Sam's Club parking lot in 2007. He also was filming into a neighbors home through a window. My guess he may have Jessica and others on video or in pictures. Rebeka hopefully can be tied through balistics. He could have been hurting women for some time now.

How sickening! I think it's very interesting all victims were in close proximity to his home!

I'm sure glad this has been solved thanks to the courage of the teen who got away. Bittersweet for the family though I know.
A thousand Jeffrey Willis's wouldn't equal one Rebekah Bletsch.

MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) — Jeffrey Willis has been bound over to stand trial in the murder of Rebekah Bletsch.

Willis was arraigned in May on charges of open murder and felony firearm in connection to Bletsch’s murder. At a preliminary hearing Wednesday, a Muskegon County judge rules there is enough evidence to send the case to trial.

Bletsch's relatives were in the courtroom Wednesday, and became emotional during the testimony about what was found on Willis' hard drive.

"It's heartbreaking. It hurts to hear how sick this man is, and what he's capable of, what he did, and what he could have done to her," Bletsch's sister Jessica Josephson said after the hearing.
