Thirteen-month-old children should look angelic and happy. In this photo that has appeared in multiple news reports, there is absolute rage on the face of the twin on the left. No child should be that angry and fearful. I suspect that these little guys had been abused from very early on in the short lives, and it's truly a shame that no one reported it to authorities.
I don't agree with you on the rage in the face on the little guy there, little kids make faces. But, yeah, those marks on their faces, the bruises, the black eyes. WTH is CPS when someone really needs them?

I planned to be asleep by now, but I thought of these two little guys when I was getting ready for bed. WTH is the matter with the world these days? How can someone do this to a child? These guys are babies.
You have CPS taking children from loving homes, placing them with people who are beating them, abusing them, sexually abusing and molesting them, maiming them and killing them. Then you have animals running around neglecting and abusing ones that CPS refuses to take from their homes..... and look at those precious faces. Two black eyes? Bruises? Did Grandmother try to report the abuse these little ones were suffering? I mean, WTH? Somebody knew something and someone should have called and if someone did call and CPS blew them off, heads should roll. (Figuratively) There is a major problem here.
I have CPS stories that go back decades. I know of missing children's cases and child exploitation and child abuse cases from way back when.
Changes need to be made. This needs to stop.

ECORSE, Mich. – Lisa Marie Reed faced a judge in-person Wednesday and pleaded not guilty to her charges of second degree murder and first degree child abuse.
The charges are in connection with the death of her 13-month-old boy and the injuries of his twin brother.
The 34-year-old mother had twin 13-year-old boys, Zyaire and Zion Reed.

*Arraignment Hearing (@ am CT) – MI – Zyaire (13 mos.) (July 28, 2020, Ecorse) (Zyaire was killed, twin Zion injured) – James Edward Gibson, Jr. (34) arrested & charged (7/28/20) with 1st degree premeditated murder, felony murder & 2 counts of 1st degree child abuse.
The Michigan Department of Corrections also became active, noting that the man is in violation of his parole. According to police, the man has at least five outstanding warrants out of Traverse City, including one for alleged child abuse. The Sheriff's Office could not be reached for comment. The man allegedly was released from prison early due to the COVID-19 pandemic on 5/8/20.
10/6/20: Refer to pretrial services for bond review. 10/16/20: Case needs to be abstracted to MI Sec. of State.

An ambulance was called to the families’ home in Ecorse early on Tuesday morning. One boy died at the hospital & the other is still battling terrible injuries. He is expected to undergo surgery to repair a broken femur & other broken bones. Both children had severe injuries to the lips, ears & broken blood vessels in the eyes. Zyaire was pronounced dead a short time later, while Zion underwent emergency surgery for a broken hip & nose, and bleeding on the brain.

Hey there! I was able to access the article but there are no dates in it. Sorry! It’s mainly discussing the surviving twin being put up for adoption now and the traumatic impact on all involved seeing what the boys had been through.

The man allegedly was released from prison early due to the COVID-19 pandemic on 5/8/20.

Police officers who were called to the Ecorse home where a 13-month-old boy was found dead last summer described a horrific scene during the continuation of a preliminary exam Wednesday for the couple who are charged with killing him and injuring his twin brother.
During testimony in 25th District Court in Lincoln Park, officers said they arrived July 28 at the residence of Lisa Marie Reed and James Gibson and saw Gibson performing CPR on toddler Zyaire Reed.
The child, who was not breathing, had injuries to his left eye, which had broken blood vessels; injuries to his ears, a split lip; abrasions on his forehead and damage to his mouth. Reed, the boy's mother, was hysterical, as the boy was pronounced dead.
Gibson, Reed's boyfriend, is charged with first-degree murder and first-degree child abuse in connection with Zyaire's death, while the boy's mother is charged with second-degree murder and first-degree child abuse. Both also are charged in serious injuries suffered by Zyaire's twin, Zion.

Assistant Wayne County Prosecutor Matthew Makepeace told Judge David Zelenek that he expects to call emergency room doctors, child abuse experts and a doctor from the Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office to testify in the exam, which is to continue later this month [1/20/21].
