We don’t agree on who was involved but I agree with you this was a confrontation which involved Suzie.

I feel such devastation for Stacey and her family as she was a victim of circumstance and she lost her life because of it. Talk about the wrong place at the wrong time.

I just hope none of the victims suffered and it was quick and plainless.
+1.

One reason I hinge on Wright's assessment so much, is because I've read about the cases he's worked. He's very very thorough and diligent. He had access to all the case files leading up to his profile.

It's interesting people don't hold it in high regard but stick by tips like the porch lady and paperboy ones.

Still waiting to hear a logical motive better than my lone male predator who merely followed them home.
Occam-wise there doesn't seem to be a better one.

This would mean the criminal motive was sexual, and thus about power and control.

But could a single perp have controlled three people?

And then disappear them completely, perhaps for forever?

I think it's possible Dusty, Mike C. and Janelle and Mike H. all have a suspicion on who might have done this. Or at least one of them do. I often wonder about the SPD's 2012 statement about "old girlfriend" being the target witness.

I agree with part 2. Ron Worsham from the 10 year anniversary NL article. Attached it. I do not think a transient did this.

The answer is in the Levitt background.

Another reference to the abduction being someone in the Levitt background

You will know if I am wrong in the person who said this but I think It was Clay who wished all the women dead.

I still find it intriguing because it’s a comment to me that stands out as Stacey did absolutely nothing wrong to him or his little gang of friends. So why wish Stacey of all people dead?!

He was badgered by a jerk cop and the cop released his statements to the media because, IMO, the officer was insecure and wanted to make an example of him.

Saying stupid things as an edgy 20 year old doesn't make you guilty. It would actually be the last thing a typical guilty person would do.

The only public tip I find credible is the Apco tip. The lady trying to dispute it on 48 Hours was way too far away and it was at night. I've stood right where she was, and she can't tell who was in the store from there--let alone how do we know she was even paying attention that well? Steve Thompson interacted with Sherrill. I believe he's telling the truth.

Not George's. Not Porch Lady.

Too much focus is on the van and bad tips. Best to attack this case from the motive and then outward. IMO.

Amen.......she seemed 'smug' to me, like laughing at the young man. Saying the person's hair was too long, something like that. I assume Sherrill had been awakened and didn't do-up her hair like in the photos.

Unless anger got the better of him which is highly possible IMO

As you said he was a teen and lashed out to the cop. It doesn’t mean he didn’t mean it and i take it at face value. I can see why as a teenager he would still be angry at Suzie and think she had got pay back but Stacey I don’t understand it and I personally find it a telling statement.

I find it to be something the media and crime shows would jump on for ratings. Personally.

If you investigate the crime, Clay has a really loose association to Suzie and they hung in different crowds. No time for him to develop an interest.

To the people who think Grave Robbers did this: I challenge you to find more proof beyond what is in the crime shows. Once you dig deeper, you will see Clay didn't have the capacity to do this.

FWIW: You can search Topix's 3MW threads where Clay and his wife frequented for 3-4 years and read all his answers and replies on the subject.

I think if the grave robbers did have some involvement in this it went beyond them. They were way down the pecking order and was simply used as a way in to the house.

Why did 2 of the grave robbers leave town shortly after this happened?

I just checked the two who left town was Michael Clay and Joseph Riedel who jumped bail.

One (Clay) hitchiked to California because he had a warrant out for his arrest.

The other went back home to Illinois because that's where he lived and obviously ratted out his friends in the Maple Park incident, so there's no way he was going to stick around.

Clay spent nearly a year in prison for the Maple Park Cemetery incident and was serving a 5 year sentence I believe. He was let out for good behavior. IIRC...I would have to check notes.

There are "False Confessions".
Funny.....people 'excuse' the people that traipsed through the house, destroying any possible trace evidence on that Sunday but they don't budge an inch for Clay. And IMO, it was unprofessional to set that info loose among the public. No purpose except to make it 'look like' LE is doing something productive.
It sounds like he was angry, sure, enough to be a killer? Not in my opinion I'm thinking he never thought they might actually BE dead. Wasn't it still at the beginning of this debacle?

But I too have wondered if Clay meant Janelle, Stacy and Suzie.

It’s still mighty coincidental that they left soon after the girls vanished though!

Why did Joseph Riedel not go home months before the girls vanished if he wanted to go back home to Illinois?

Dusty and Joe turned on Mike. Dusty only did because he didn't really participate in the vandalizing. Only Mike and Joe did. But Dusty's parents hired one of the best lawyers in SGF to get him out of it.

FWIW Dusty stuck around and participated in all the vigils for the women and pined hard for his own innocence. I don't think a guilty person would do that.

Never mind the fact that you have all kinds of eyes on the grave robbers (they had an expansive friend group). Where they hiding three bodies? Clay lived in a dump of an apartment with his sister off Scenic Ave. Where's he hiding bodies? None of them have rich parents with property.

FWIW pt 2: they all passed a lie detector and two former FBI agents and a police chief cleared them.

I think they all received 7 year sentencing. A judge then paroled them on a new First Time Offense law. MC had to serve some time for breaking parole violations concerning not adhering to mandatory substance abuse meetings.

It was five years.

Here's the info attached.

He served four months and his wife + good behavior helped get him out.

More info on Case Net plus Clay's own words on Topix.

Over lunch they was cleared I thought and other cops spoke out who said they should not of been cleared. So it doesn’t sound like everybody was on the same page.

Also what do you mean “where would they hide the bodies”. I don’t think they hid them under their mattress that’s for sure.

I believe Kathee Baird originally spread that rumor about them being "cleared over a cheeseburger" when that was not the case and has since been debunked.

Explain why Ron Worsham thinks the answer is in the Levitt background. He was assistant chief of police.

Another fact: Mark Webb was taken off this investigation. He was the one that had a hard-on for Clay and Recla.

I have a question.

Why does Doug Thomas (lead investigator after Asher) think Steve Garrison has all the answers to this case? Enough to where it leads to a search in Marshfield and Fordland?

Check attached.

BBM.

Very important to realize when considering the grave robbers as possible players in 3MW.
