MN MN - Albert Lea, I-90, WhtMale 40-55, UP13731, garnet/ruby ring, clothes, coins 1965-1992, Apr'15

About the ring, I wonder if it's someone with a January birthday? Or July and instead of a ruby decided to go inexpensive with a garnet.

Brian Blachut's birthday is listed as January 17. Though it sounds like it's unlikely to be him.

I need to call in sick for the rest of the day to do some digging....ugh!

A male wrapped in a painter's tarp-like material. It appears the body was carried there, possibly in someone's arms, and dropped by the fence.

Police also saw some teeth with the remains.

They think the remains have been there anywhere from one to two years.

The remains were found tight up against the fence sunken in the dirt, and it did not appear that anyone had taken steps to conceal the body.

This will probably be little to no help in identifying him, but it was only thing that's come to me since I first read this. Since the remains were found about 1/2 mile from a gas station, I wonder if he may have gotten gas there and picked up someone who asked for a ride (or who hid in the back seat while he was inside). If so, he could have been passing through from almost anywhere, but his bank/CC records might show a purchase there. It wouldn't have to be the last purchase if he were killed by a male; the card could have been used several times after that without looking suspicious since it wasn't reported stolen.

In spite of the "Minnesota nice" reputation we have, you can be stranded on the shoulder of the Interstate for quite a while before anyone will stop to offer assistance at night. If done later at night when there wasn't a lot of traffic, he could turn on the hazard lights, put a note on the windshield saying he's coming back for the car (in case LE happens to stop) and lay down if a car does approach. If the vehicle was actually a truck, there may have been a tarp in the bed, which could have made it easier than carrying him would be. Even if there was a slight trail from dragging him, most people wouldn't pay much attention if nothing was known to have happened in the area.

We go through this area a lot. I think of him each and everytime. I try to picture who he was. A transient who just got tired and hunkered down for a bit to rest - and never woke up? A victim of a crime? Absolutely someone's son.

Just drove by where our John Doe was found. He needs his name back!

Broken Bones Raise Questions in Freeborn County Skeletal Remains Case

(Sent from ABC 6 NEWS)
http://www.KAALtv.com/article/stories/s3934550.shtml?cat=10151

Freeborn County Sheriff Kurt Freitag says they include broken ribs, a broken pelvis, a broken arm, and broken leg. All of the fractures are on the right side of the body.

Sheriff Freitag says this is the only clue relating to what may of happened to the person. He says it raises the possibility of the person being hit by a car, but also says the fractures could have been caused by a larger tractor or lawn mower after they'd been placed along the Interstate.

Looking through this thread, I do not find this name yet:

https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/24659/

Last seen in Hinckley MN on 5/12/14, just under a year before these remains were found. Known to wear five large rings, though I can't find any photos. He had been arrested in Nov 2013 for a brutal beating in Princeton MN:

There is a Facebook group page for him at:

His page is at:

I read the Union Eagle link first, as NamUS tends to have few specific details (at least of the "circumstances" part).

The Union Eagle says that he "became involved in a domestic assault" regarding the event. No names other than his are given, but it sounds like he went-off over (or merely during) dinner and beat his grandparents up. I thought the domestic part meant family/spouse/etc was involved.

If he's not running from the law due to his assault, is he involved in anything where someone could want him killed (over money, etc)?

You are correct on the geography. What I'd like to find is photos of the rings he was known to wear. Perhaps, could a willing someone contact the Facebook group linked above and see if someone has any.

Also, I found the below page:

Note the fourth charge down. I also searched the MN public search which can be found at:

http://pa.courts.state.mn.us/default.aspx

He actually has an active warrant on one charge, I believe it's related to the beating mentioned above.
