Maybe where you lived which was quite a ways away. Not so for the close neighbors. I think as a child you may have been out of the loop of many of the adults. Most adults don't confide and discuss issues with random children, I feel

I'm pretty sure your the one out of the loop. It was a half mile, or 2 blocks at the time.

I read somewhere that she lived in apartments near the "swamp" that later became Klinefelter Park, if that helps. So near the party spot in the woods on the west side of 19th also. Can't recall where I saw that, in an article or comments online? Sorry.

Likely the strip of townhouses on Dale St. or the 3 apartments across the street to the north

You posted the map of your house. That is far from the R farm

A half mile is six blocks.

Do
Does it occur to you maybe he doesn't know? I wouldn't have a clue today or when I lived with my parents what they had in their closet/dresser drawers. Women have their own dictionary when it comes to the names of all the...stuff that they wear. Basic 4 is good enough for me.

I wasn't asking you. I was asking Sas because I was surprised to see that he was cutting DR some slack.

They did walk through our house at 2 am. We were up, lights on, watching and wondering what was going on. ELOC, have you ever been able to confirm that Hollinger missed his AA meeting on January 13th? If true, the comment "It's ok to talk about it" was a little guilt or whatever you wanna call it for missing his meeting being that's what they say at "recovery" meetings as such, I think.

I don't know if he attended the meeting in Cold Spring that night or not. The meeting was at 8:30pm. I don't know how long those kinds of meetings last, I only know there were two meetings weekly, and that he had told his neighbors that he went to AA meetings. Good point about the quote, I hadn't thought about that before....

How about the sister? Does anyone have a location for the apartment she had at the time? I've asked a few around town about the Bahner's, nobody seems familiar, but I'll try some others.

Sundial apartments in Waite Park, I believe, as of Jacob's kidnapping. The younger brother was in the St. Cloud Children's home in 1988, not sure where he lived in October 1989.

One of their brothers (Alan) died really young.

So many children with horrendous lives.

DAH, the B children, the Hubers.

It breaks my heart. Not that I want to give them any slack as adults.

This sexual abuse of children blows my mind.

Hiw will it end??? It must.

It makes me so angry

It was "happening" everywhere.

This is why there isn't just a single perp to focus on. I recently heard from a man who said when he was 11 years old, living in Owatonna, that he was followed by a man in a red Ford Escort station wagon 3 separate times, a week apart. It occurred in November 1988 or 1989. He and his grandfather filed a complaint with the local police, and the traced the car to a Wisconsin man, and didn't follow up at all after that. LE just didn't know how to handle this kind of thing back then...

You were further away, yet your family was wide awake.

Why was DR not as concerned?

If it interruoted his work, he could take a sick day. Teachers get sick days.

He must have had a lot of them accumulated.

Who knows if they followed up or not. They may have been building a case. Following a kid is not a crime. You cannot be detained for no reason. That is the way it is here.

I had read her apartment was in St. Joe.

Sending you a PM also, see if it makes sense to you please.

Tinner, at one time I thought it was you that said something like, " MF was the weird one" Can you tell us more about MF? If it was not you that made the comment, I am sorry for my bad memorY.

Here is where Brenda Bahner lived after she moved from her apartment. She lived in Bel Clare Acres. Scroll down on this link to #73 Claremont Street.
https://address.radaris.com/Saint+Cloud+MN/CLAREMONT+ST

In 2001 she lived in Mankato according to family obits. Not sure were she lives now.

Forgot to scroll down and just seen the first name on the page. As I'm sure you're aware, there are people in Kiwi Court that go by that name...one who happened to be question a few times by police.

I have always wondered how LE could not have searched the Rassier property that first night. Maybe they did, and we just don't know about it? After all, DR did go to bed after awhile - how would he know if they searched after he was asleep? I just cannot fathom that they would not have searched, especially given how they went door to door for many square miles. Just doesn't add up, good upstanding family or not.

Eloc,

Be careful stating he slept that night as fact. Is his story to be believed at this point?

Yeah, I had said that. MF was 10 years older than myself. I do however have friends 4 - 5 years older that did know him, although I don't think there was really much of an association other than mutual friends or just the fact it was a small town. They have all said when he was around it became just a weird vibe all of a sudden. All we had in town were those bike trails for entertainment. No big playgrounds, pools, splash parks, video games, and whatever else kids have today. Well I guess I did have the Atari 2600....got old quick.
