Cheatham posted $250,000 bond on 9/14/18, & has been released with GPS monitoring & restrictions that she not have any contact with the children. Her attorney has moved to continue the October 9th Preliminary Hearing because she has documents she needs to review.

2/19/19 Update: Judge granted both "parents" motion to alter their bond conditions. Only change is that they are no longer required to have GPS monitoring. Next court date for both is Preliminary hearing on March 21.

I hope these children are healthy now, have a home with their own room or a nice room with a sibling. I hope their new parents shower them with time and attention so they feel valued and loved. It is not likely all 4 were kept together but maybe they get to see each other. I sincerely hope they are not with extended family nearby. Family on the other side of the planet, maybe is ok. Goodness knows without GPS, these two could do something really dumb like take off with them.

Still haven't received notifications from the Court, but logged into CaseNet.

Both waived preliminary hearings yesterday and entered "not guilty" pleas. No new date set for either. Will update when I see one.

Cheatham's case has a new case number: 18SF-CR01149-01 which is why I wasn't getting updates. At the court appearance on June 6th where she waived her preliminary hearing and entered a plea of not guilty, the Judge entered an order stating "case is passed to August 7, 2019 Law Day for filing all needed pre-trial motions and for trial setting." While that language is a bit ambiguous, there is also an entry on June 7th setting the case for trial on August 7, 2019 at 8:00 a.m.

Head's case also has a new case number: 18SF-CR01148-01. He is also shown as having waived the preliminary hearing and entered a not guilty plea on June 6th. Judge entered an order with the same language as Cheatham, and his trial is also set for August 7, 2019 at 8:00 a.m.

I'm tracking both new case numbers now and will update when I get something new.

Unfortunately.

The good news is that trial is set for both on September 4, 2019 at 8:00 a.m.

The bad news is that the Court granted both "parents"' motions to amend the terms of their bond to permit contact with the children as allowed by the Juvenile Court. The State contested those Motions. There is no indication of what the terms of contact the Juvenile Court is permitting are. Hopefully, it will be tightly supervised and limited to the information the parents' lawyers legitimately need to prepare their clients' defenses, but there's no way to confirm that.
