No bond changed (3/21/19) to $100K Cash ONLY bond. Bond reduced (9/30/19) to $5000 Cash or Surety Bond. Out on bond 9/30/19.

9/30/19 Update: Cole County Circuit Court Judge Jon Beetem granted the release of Quatavia Givens with specific conditions. According to the order, Givens must post a $5,000 cash or surety bond and keep a GPS monitor on her until further notice. Plus these conditions: She contact the court weekly. She stay at the address listed with the court's Pre-Trial Services Office, traveling only to and from court with approval. She is to return to court for all appearances unless excused. She pay for any private supervision services which may be required. She may not be in the presence of minor children who aren't her own, and any in-person contact with her own child under supervision of the child's legal guardian. She has no contact with the victim's family. Next hearing on 10/29.
10/29/19 Update: Prosecutors updated the charges Friday against Quatavia Givens to involve second-degree murder. Givens next court date is scheduled for June 29, 2020 with the new trial starting July 13. According to court records, the trial is scheduled to last seven days.

Oh how I hope this trial moves forward! I'm still sick that she has been out on bond the entire time. Why should she have been allowed this freedom when she was responsible for putting Darnell in a grave??

Wow i just came across this case and clicked the link to her fb, she was going back and forth in the comments and that usually a sign of someone who is guilty trying to get ppl to believe her bs story.

then to top it off she gets a bond as low as hers? I never heard of no shii like this. This is crazy!!!

Instructions for Division I criminal law day on 9/22/2020 at 1:00 p.m. Defendants, unless expressly excused, are to report to the Circuit Court Marshal at the entrance of the courthouse to see if they need to appear in court. Defendants should bring their ID's. If their appearance is not required, they will be given a new court date. If they need to appear, they will be admitted as space is available. If they fail to appear, warrants may be issued. Counsel are requested to review these instructions with their clients. If the defendant is in custody at the Cole County Jail, the jail docket will be held at 1:00 pm. Defense Attorneys should appear via video, except for pleas and hearings and WEBEX invitations will be sent out shortly prior to law day. Prosecutor will be in the courtroom. If the defendant chooses to plead guilty on this law day, please advise the Court by emailing Donna.Jordan@courts.mo.gov before the close of business on Monday, September 21, 2020 of the plea terms so that the paperwork can be prepared in advance. Pleas will be taken at 3:00 pm. If your client is intending to plea, by have them come at 3:00 pm. All appearances will be governed by the mask and social distancing rules in force at the time of appearance. All parties admitted will be screened for COVID-19 exposure and temperature. Parties should bring mask (face coverings) with them. There is limited space in the courthouse and only defendants who have to appear will be admitted. Defendants should not come more than 10 minutes early. Hearings and pleas will be conducted at 3:00pm in person. Please do not come early. Under COVID-19 operating procedures, the Court will accept the following: 1. Felony pleas involving probation from defendants not in custody via video by special setting. All paperwork, including probation orders and facesheets, must be completed and in the possession of the Court prior to entering the plea. 2. Written waivers of arraignment and pleas of not guilty from represented clients. 3. Written guilty pleas on misdemeanors from represented clients. All paperwork must be completed and in the possession of the Court prior to accepting the plea. It was around this time 2 years ago that little Darnell was brutally murdered by his caretaker and she's out enjoying her life. How sad is that?

Fly high little man, justice is coming.
