Ok so she made it to the interview and back then disappeared.
ALOT of questions need to be asked of the victim, before you can proceed with the investigation
We always start with the victim (or the missing person in this case)
Ready for this?
Victimology assessment:
-Has she ever done something like this before?
-Has she ever indicated that she wanted to leave or disappear?
-Last known location, and last contacts
-Physical traits
-Education
-Has she ever been in trouble with the law ?
-Anyone in her family immediate or otherwise ever been in trouble with the law?
-Any medical history (psychological or physical)
-Did she have ay problems?
-Was she on any meds?
-For What ?
-How often administered?
-Did she do this regularly?
-How was her financial situation?
-Did she have any problems at work?
-Why was she looking to change jobs?
-Did anything recently happen or change in her life ?
-How was her mood in the days prior to her disappearance?
-Was there anything in her lifestyle that would make her a target ?
-Was she or is there any indication she was involved, with anyone either professionally, or romantically?
-Did they have any problems if she was?
-Did she keep a diary, or any writings?
-Any drug or alcohol use , if so has it increased, recently?
-Was she afraid of anything or anyone? (had she ever mentioned being stalked?)
-List of friends especially anyone who visited recently
-Any unusual occurrences prior to the disappearance ?
-Past employment history
-Internet history review
-Would anyone be willing to help with the investigation? Names ?
-Does she have any children? are they old enough to talk to investigators?
Some additional investigative, considerations:
-Why was she staying with this friend?
-Was she expecting anyone?
-Did she arrive at the interview alone ?
Scene :
-Is this a House or an apartment?
-Any break ins, robberies, sexual assaults, or home invasions in the area?
-Any arrests if there were?
-Was her friend that she was staying with expecting anyone?
-Is there anyone who routinely enters the residence (For EX, housekeeper/Maintenance, etc.)
-Is there anyone else who has a key to the residence?
-Was the Door locked, when her friend returned that day?
-Was anything of value missing from the residence?
-Was there any sign of forced entry ?
-Any sign of a struggle inside the residence ?
-Was there anywhere that she (and her friend) would routinely go (another house etc..)?
-Was there anything needed for the home that might've led her to leave in search of it ? (for ex Toilet paper etc..)
Other possible indications:
- Is there any conflicting investigative factors?, (for example, leaving her purse but taking her jacket? etc.) ?
-Any recent trips or vacations?
-If so, to where ?
-Does she follow a routine, or have any habits like running, biking, exercising ,etc.?
-Any hobbies, things she liked to do, or places she liked to go in her spare time?
Friend (other occupant of the residence)
-Any enemies, problems with anyone?
-Any recent arguments?
-Involved with anyone?
-If so how was their relationship?
-Does this individual have access to the residence?
-She or anyone she associates with (family/friends) ever been in trouble with the law
-If so for what ?
-Do any of them have access to the residence?
-What is her financial situation?
-Was there an argument or disagreement between the 2 before she disappeared?
-Does she have any children?
-If so is the father of them residing with her ?
-If not where does he reside?
-Does he have access to the residence?
-Was she expecting anyone that day, any deliveries etc.?
-What's her financial situation, any debt?
-Any drug or alcohol use?
-Work history?
-Did anything recently happen, or change in her life?
-Is she on any meds?
-For what?
-Internet history search?
-Any oddball occurrences, prior to or immediately following Kelly's disappearance? (phone calls, letters, strange individuals hanging around)
-If this is an apartment was anyone recently evicted?
-Has there ever been a burglary or attempted burglary at this residence?
-If so how long ago?
-What was taken if so?
-Was this ever resolved (arrest made etc.) ?
-What does she think occurred?
-If she has children, can we talk to them?, are they of age to be able to respond?
And that's just the beginning
