Summary of Content from Presser:

(They started early, so I missed the first part, hopefully somebody else can summarize what I missed)
  • Weather is complicating the search
  • Heavy rain over the weekend has hampered/slowed LE's search efforts
  • "Trying to gather evidence, you're at the mercy of nature"
  • Nelson and the D brothers have had a business deal going on for "a few months"
  • Searching other properties as well as the farm
  • "He's been cooperative" re: the suspect (as an aside: seems like LE always says that, take it w/ a grain)
  • "It's a long-term case"
  • "We're in it for the long haul"
  • Discovery of the truck along w/ other info they aren't going to disclose has turned this into a death investigation
  • Bond hearing scheduled this Thursday
  • JN's been under previous investigation federally as we all know
  • "We've been searching the whole farm"
  • About 74 acres
  • Not going to talk about evidence they've discovered
  • Can't thank all of the agencies that have helped them enough
  • The D brothers had their meeting with JN at the farm location

The police would not have put the family through the turmoil of changing it to a death investigation if they thought the brothers would be found alive.

I know everyone wants to be hopeful but reality is what it is.

<modsnip - inside info without verification>

They are supposed to announce something today, but I bet they cant confirm remains (if they aren't easily identifiable) until DNA comes back. :( Such a senseless act of violence and so many lives and hearst broken.

Thanks so much! I really thought we’d get a little more info. I’m interested in what changed from a missing person case to a death investigation.

The sheriff said they are searching other properties as well. With so much farmland, who knows where the brothers could be? Seventy acres is a lot but there have been a lot of volunteers and its been almost a week since the searches started. I'm thinking maybe they aren't at the farm. Surely, JN's family has some idea what happened but I bet they are keeping quiet as well.

I believe the sheriff said “he’s been cooperative for the tampering charge, he’s been cooperative”.

The sheriff. About 3.5 minutes in. I hope I am linking correctly.

Yes, it was LE who stated JN was "cooperating."

However, people shouldn't mistake "cooperating" for "confessing."

I'm guessing we're looking at any "cooperation" by him happening on a very limited basis here.

Namely, JN's probably just admitting what LE already has him dead to rights for, i.e., the tampering charge r/t moving/ditching their rental vehicle.

Pretty sure that's the full extent of his "cooperation" right now.
Even that "cooperation," will, I'm quite sure, be chock full o' deception, lies and obfuscation on his part.

On account of he's a lying liar who lies.

I don't believe for one minute that JN is "cooperating" with LE in any way, shape or form w/ regard to their search for ND and JD; otherwise, LE wouldn't be carrying out searches at multiple locations.

JMO.
