There are lots of ponds and a river out by there. Lots of farmland also. This is the time of year where the land is bare though with no cover. We have had snow and now freezing temps although will be warmer this weekend.

I wish the family and friends lots of help and luck in their searching. Sorry I don't know how to get the map to post in the picture.

The town of Butler is NE of this location. If you zoom in, there are multiple bodies of water. There is also the Marais Des Cygnes River nearby ("Marsh of the Swans").

I realize that, I just mentioned Butler as a nearby town, since to see the multiple bodies of water around the pertinent area, the map didn't really give a clue to where the pertinent area was, unless a person went to the map link, then zoomed out!

and, since Missouri is considered by many to be a fly-over state, for some sleuths finding Butler, Missouri on a map is easier than finding Bates County.

Now, where is Ms. Mallatt???

I had always heard if you wanted to get away with murder commit it in Bates County. Now that was many years ago. There are different LE and Judges in that area now, so it may not work anymore.

I knew a couple and they ended up getting divorced. He murdered her new husband and kidnapped her and took her across state lines. He got life in prison, so no he didn't get away with murder. yew I just looked him up and his prison nickname is Smurf.

There were several cases while I lived there that got off on some technicality. The one above happened after I moved away.

I hope Nicole has just ran off to get away from someone.

"Momma, I got to get out of here. I'm going to end up dead if I don't."

Nicole Mallatt was last seen on 11/25/2019 in Butler, MO, however she was not reported missing until Nov. 29.
Last Known Location Map
She was reportedly wearing a grey v-neck t-shirt (shown in the photo of Nicole with the blue background) and black sweat pants and carrying a black backpack when she went missing.
The Bates County Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post on December 2, 2019 that they activated the Southwest Major Case Squad to assist in the search effort. The Bates County Sheriff’s Office is still treating her disappearance as a missing persons case.
On December 5th authorities found Nicole's shoes, phone, and backpack near the road outside her home where she was last seen. They also served a search warrant on her home.
So far, none of the recovered items have given any clues as to where she might be. Her family said that the backpack recovered with the items belonging to Nicole Mallatt was one that she used as a purse.
She's a good person. She's a beautiful girl. Loves her kids to death. Would do anything for them. We're just out here trying to find her and hoping that she's still alive, which doesn't look good after finding all of her things scattered everywhere. She would not do this. It's not Nicole.
-Debbie Lewis, Mallatt's mother
Authorities over the post have used cadaver dogs, sonar, dive teams, drones and volunteers, searching both the property she lived on with her boyfriend of 18 years, as well as around the Marais Des Cygnes river just southwest of SW 1238 Rd & SW CR-5697 Rd.
Now here is how YOU can help Nicole’s family:
  • Spread awareness of this case online, and try to attend the Birthday Candlelight Vigil in honor of Nicole.
THE VIGIL WILL BE HELD JUNE 19TH ONLINE AND ON LOCATION. TIME IS 5:30 PM TO 8:30 PM (WE WILL CREATE AN EVENT POST FOR YOU TO RSVP IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND IN PERSON- ADDRESS ON POST AND ATTACHED FLYER)
  • The following day there will be a ground search with volunteers!!!
June 20th searchers will meet at Adrian community parking lot across from Casey's general at 9am here.
or Open Google Maps.
  1. At the top, tap the search box and type the plus code 9MV4+J4 Adrian, Missouri
  • There is currently a $3000 reward for the recovery of Nicole Mallatt, or information leading to her and or arrest and conviction of the parties responsible for her current circumstance.

The family is also raising money to try to increase the reward, so this number may change. You can make a donation or buy a t-shirt HERE or over the phone (see attached flyer) to support this effort.

I’m happy to hear they are resuming the search. I hope they have many resources at their disposal. I suspect it will be a small clue that will break this wide open. If this dude was adept at hiding the abuse and she was adept at explaining it away, he is likely good at covering his tracks. Those kids have to have been exposed to the abuse. JMO. They could be too afraid to speak. Now that school is closed, there isn’t anyone to confide in. I wonder if the kids have seen her family at all or have been in communication with them. I would think the oldest would have a cell phone.

Just bumping the thread - find Nicole!

Maybe the kids will get the opportunity to speak to a guidance counselor when they return to school. Sometimes kids say things that they don't recognize as clues. I hope the adults will be listening and observing.

JUSTICE FOR NICOLE!

If I'm understanding correctly the high school sports are happening at Butler High. Maybe a few of her kids are participating thus giving them an opportunity to reach out to someone for help.

I wonder who called in the tip. A hunter? A farmer?

Snip:
About six hours after the initial call, authorities called in forensic anthropologists from Washburn University in Topeka to help examine the site. The anthropologists, along with detectives from the Missouri Highway Patrol and the Sheriff's Office, spent the next several hours recovering the human remains, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The team handed the recovered remains over to the county coroner for identification and an autopsy. Identification could take a few weeks, according to the Sheriff's Office.
