According to police, Flamion was shot from behind as he walked back to his car after stopping Antonio Taylor for speeding in the 300 block of New Ballwin Road. Taylor, 31, was arraigned Monday on charges of assault of a police officer, armed criminal action, and possessing a firearm as a felon

Has anyone been able to find any information on the shooter?

Update*:
"Wounded Ballwin Officer Michael Flamion is paralyzed from the neck down....[Baldwin Chief of Police] Scott said it was uncertain whether Flamion could ever go home. He remains in intensive care, on a ventilator, a feeding tube and IV fluids. “I don’t know that we’ll see much change,” the chief noted."

Sad, sad, sad. Thoughts & prayers for Officer Flamion, family, friends, Ballwin PD, & community.

This should be locked away for three lifetimes. He's obviously a habitual offender. State prison, federal prison, illegal firearms...no way he will ever be anything but a menace to society.

"Shared outrage over shooting of officer brings Ballwin police, residents 'closer than ever'"

"...
Three weeks after one of his officers was shot while on duty and left paralyzed, Ballwin Police Chief Kevin Scott opened the doors of his department for anyone to walk in.
He says he’s never heard of a police department exposing itself like that after such an attack on an officer...."

"That support has taken form in cards, food donations and contributions toward the cost of Flamion’s care, which now total at least more than $311,000 on [a crowd funding a/c site]."

"Flamion’s wife, Sarah Flamion, was there, too, smiling at the open house guests. People took turns greeting her, holding her hands and telling her they are praying for her and her husband."

“Mike is still in the Intensive Care Unit at Mercy Hospital,” he explained. “He is still intubated, but they did a tracheotomy. He’s still paralyzed from the neck down.”

Mike Flamion Benefit Night will take place at Royale Orleans at the end of August to raise money for construction improvements “needed to satisfy Mike’s long-term care.”

This is so unbelievable. Shoot somebody with their back to you. I am happy to hear he will be getting rehab and P.T. although it won't change much physically. I am an LPN, and have worked as a private duty nurse in home settings, with crippled and special needs kids for the last 10 years. They have put the trach in, and probably put in a Mickey button, which is much better than a feeding tube. He should be able to live at home with his family, but will need in home nsg care. I don't know anything about Missouri regulations, but his private insurance may or may not cover his care indefinitely. He will be able to draw SSI, and Medicaid. The company I work for strictly cared for kids, and that coverage ends when they are 21. So I am completely in the dark when it comes to adult coverage.
It sounds like their town is really stepping up to help the family, and I wish them all the best.

as shoen…during a ‘routine traffic stop’ by a driver he stopped for speeding at 11:00am July 8, 2016.

Per a Ballwin PD release, he is in a Colorado rehab facility and has “…regained some movement in his shoulders, which allows him to shrug, the statement says. And although still reliant on a ventilator, he is able to eat regular food and have conversations.”

He can operate his wheelchair by controlling it with a 'sip and puff straw.'
