It's a Battle Uniform Company tie.

Thanks, I have worked this case so hard that I can't read anymore.

There has been a patent on a means to create identifying information on individual contact lenses since at least 1980:

http://www.google.com/patents/US4193671

Also, I got hold of an AccuVue Oasys daily wear (i.e., disposable) contact lens. Although I don't have magnification available here, by holding the lens up to a light source at an oblique angle, I was clearly able to see what looks like a dot-matrix laser pattern forming the numbers "123" on the curved part of the lens. The numbers might be 2 or 3 16ths of an inch high.

Given the sheer number of lenses produced I don't know how helpful that information might be, but at least it's something. Maybe each manufacturer uses a different pattern or style of marking them?

I was wondering if anyone knew the surrounding streets that this man was found. I can't find anything on it and I should be able to. Or the business that owns the garage. Also don't remember reading about this case in local media, which I read almost daily, any links would be appreciated.

He was found in a parking garage downtown close to Macy's at 6th and Olive. The parking garage is across the street and is right next to a restaurant called The Edible Difference.

If only they would release a reconstruction!!! :banghead:

Just a random thought, but it seems he probably wasn't indigent. Maybe it was a suicide and he thought that if he carried no identification, authorities would not be able to identify him. Then after a while, his family could claim him dead and collect on insurance.

Possible suicide, and it is very possible he was in this country illegally.

I have searched all states for any missing meeting his ID...nothing..I am starting to back thru the states again. I start with Missouri and surrounding states and work outward. Also, when I talk with other LE about other cases I give them the info to see if they have someone missing that is not posted yet. Still nothing.

Raine, bless your heart. I still hope we can give our UID back his name.

Raine, is Michael Bell on the ruleout list?
CA CA - Michael Bell, 26, Fresno County, 16 Sept 2011 - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community

He's a long shot because of distance but he was planning to travel to the east coast so St. Louis might have been along his route, his age is within range, his weight is exact (190), his height is within three inches, perhaps close enough since it appears to be an estimate ("about six feet"), he has the short hair and his teeth look pretty good judging by what is visible in the photo.

He is not listed in Namus and I can't find him on any other missing person sites either so I am not completely sure that he is still missing.

NB: There is Michael Anthony Bell listed on Nampn but it's a different person

I will check the list, if not I will contact LE in CA.

Sigh... I thought maybe there was news. I think about this man often, but I can't help feel like he didn't not want to be identified.
