Sweetie Pie's Tim Norman, Exotic Dancer Charged in Murder-For-Hire Plot
Aug 18, 2020
  • MADISON COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI DETENTION CENTER
  • James Timothy Norman was charged in a murder-for-hire plot.
''James Timothy Norman of Sweetie Pie's fame is facing federal charges alleging he conspired with an exotic dancer in the murder of his eighteen-year-old nephew Andre Montgomery.

The 41-year-old son of the legendary restaurant owner Robbie Montgomery was arrested this morning at his home in Jackson, Mississippi, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney.

Norman, who starred with his family in the show Welcome to Sweetie Pie's, had feuded with his mother over money in recent years after she sued him for opening restaurants under the Sweetie Pie's brand without her permission, according to court records.

It was a messy, public spat, but federal authorities say Norman executed a far more sinister conspiracy to have his teenage nephew killed in 2016. According to the criminal complaint unsealed today, Norman had taken out $450,000 in life insurance policies on Andre Montgomery in 2014, and he was the sole beneficiary.''

Murder-for-hire charges against son of Sweetie Pie's owner are latest chapter in a troubled life
''ST. LOUIS — James Timothy Norman’s reality TV storyline often featured his search for redemption from a violent past, making Tuesday’s news of his alleged murder-for-hire plot a shock to viewers who watched him mourn the death he is now accused of facilitating.

Norman, 41, was a star of “Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s,” a reality show that ran for five seasons on OWN and highlighted Sweetie Pie’s, a St. Louis-area soul food business owned by Norman’s mother, Robbie Montgomery.''

''Federal authorities say Norman hired Terica Ellis, a former St. Louis County resident who was working in Memphis, Tennessee, as an exotic dancer, to help in the March 2016 killing near Fairground Park. Prosecutors say Norman then attempted to collect on the life insurance benefits of his nephew’s death.''
Since Andre’s passing I haven’t gone through this part of the city,” Norman said on the show. “Really, I’ve been avoiding it.”

Poor Andre. He did not deserve this. I can't imagine how he must have felt being betrayed by his own family. How Miss Robbie must feel. She must feel sick. She gave birth to a monster. Ice water in his veins. I hope he never leaves prison.

Thank you so much for sharing this. Thankful for this forum.

A federal judge on Friday ordered a former star on the “Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s” reality television show held in jail instead of sending him home to his mother.

James Timothy “Tim” Norman faces a possible penalty of life in prison or the death penalty if convicted of the murder-for-hire conspiracy charge, U.S. Magistrate Judge Nannette Baker wrote in her order, and thus has incentive to flee if released before trial.

''The FBI announced Thursday afternoon that a fourth person has been indicted in relation to a murder for hire plot tied to James "Tim" Norman, one of the stars of the OWN Network series "Welcome to Sweetie Pie's".

According to the news release, a federal grand jury indicted Travell Anthony Hill Thursday. He now faces one charge of conspiracy to commit murder for hire and murder for hire resulting in the death of Norman's nephew, Andre Montgomery Jr., in 2016.''

''A meeting is scheduled Dec. 2 with federal prosecutors and several of the defense attorneys. If convicted, Norman, Ellis and Hill could face life in prison or the death penalty, as well as a $250,000 fine. Yaghnam and Norman could face up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine if found guilty of the wire fraud charges.''

Superseding Indictments against all four people involved in Murder for hire conspiracy. There is a ton of information in this indictment it has text messages between Tim Norman and WAIEL REBID YAGHNAMSW who was doing all 5 of the insurance applications for Tim Norman to get life insurance policies for Andre Montgomery.
And once Andre was murdered and Tim didn't think the insurance was being paid out quick enough he hired an attorney to sue the insurance company to get the money he felt was due to him..unbelivable

''Federal agents took the stand on Friday, September 9. Evidence presented Friday outlined records from five phones, including two prepaid phones, activated on the day Andre Montgomery Jr. was shot to death.
FBI agents said three of those phones were connected with Norman.

FBI agents also said Norman lied to investigators about where he was when Montgomery was killed. He told them he was in California, but records from the pre-paid phones show him in the vicinity of Chase Park Plaza hotel around 4:00 p.m. and at a U.S. Bank off of Lindell Boulevard around 5:00 p.m.''
