*Trial set to begin (@ 9am CT) - MO – Karvel (6) & dog (Decapitated by mother, 2/15/22, Kansas City) - *Tasha L. Haefs (35/now 38) arrested & charged (2/15/22) & arraigned (4/29/24) with 1st degree murder & felony armed criminal action. No bond. Plead not guilty reason insanity. Jackson County
Haefs told police that the boy was her biological son & admitted she killed him.
Trial was set to begin on 4/7/25 was rescheduled on 10/20/25.
Judge Joel P. Fahnestock presiding. DA Nichole Erickson. Defense attorney Anthony Ray Vibbard.

Tasha Haefs pleaded not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect during a hearing Friday, Oct. 24. As part of a plea deal, a Jackson County judge sentenced her to the facility instead of prison.

Now wondering - if she ever gets declared "sane" will she go back to court? Or is she sentenced "for good" in the mental institute?

I don't know if she is forever committed or not. The article didn't say and I could not find another article to post.
