Motivation Report has been released

I kind of listened about this case at first. Then the trial circus started and really started considering all the evidence. No doubt in my mind AK was there.

Always wondered why Raff allowed himself to be considered in trial with Amanda, not separately. Now, he tries.

Sollecito was thinking with his heart rather than his head, so he missed the strategy. Now, when he feels rebuffed, with broken heart, he is thinking strategy ... too little, too late. Sollecito is trying to ride the wave of Nencini's remark about Sollecito having no interest in speaking during the trial. Sollecito claims that he was not invited to speak, but every defendant knows about the right to speak during trial. Knox figured it out and she apparently didn't speak a word of Italian.

I initially believed that Knox was innocent ... until about 2009.
I thought it was a no-brainer, quick release, forget about it.
Instead, the evidence was released.
Otto, would you mind detailing what he evidence was that changed your mind???

I am one that went from believing that she was probably guilty to pretty firmly believing that she and Raffaele are innocent based on the evidence, especially the lack of it.

Are you aware of some of the latest revelations concerning the DNA evidence, i.e. signs of contamination that occurred in Stefanoni's lab and the suppression of some of that evidence?

Thanks,
Glenn

I don't buy the DNA secondary and tertiary transfer theories.

With all the discussion about DNA transfer, it's no stretch to believe that Knox transferred his DNA to Meredith's bra clasp.

the two statement above are in contradiction to each other... if amanda put raff's dna on the clasp, that is secondary transfer.

I thought perhaps that Sollecito could cash in on this theory.

again, did amanda selectively clean her dna from the clasp before or after depositing sollecito's? this question must be answered for the above statement to have any scientific basis/validity.

Judges are different from DNA and forensic analysts. A judge evaluates information for truth and accuracy. The forensic analyst studies the scene.

a judge looks at, reads, hears (aka studies) the forensic evidence... which is exactly what moore et al did. and the judges in all likelihood do not understand the intricacies of the forensics, like the specialists do. in fact, i linked an article months ago which reported that many judges do not understand the many complex issues of dna and it's testing.

(why does it seem the goal posts keep moving when points are questioned?)

and aparently nencini doesn't even know who's dna was supposedly found on the knife. nor does he know about Y haplotypes. this is "truth and accuracy"? lol

i presumed they were guilty too. then i read some of the threads here. almost immediately i realized there were serious errors with every single piece of "evidence". not to mention, not one of the motives makes any sense -- orgy? poop? money? it's all nonsense.

Good call. Now the appeal has been submitted we see that none of the 'internet revelations' were actually part of it. Instead Sollecito is now blaming Knox for the murder and is asking the court to consider he had 'only' a minor role. Now we wait a year or so till the appeal is being dealt with. This will be short since it will merely judge the report on the correct application of Italian law, and it usually does not take longer than a day. I suspect that Knox and Sollecito will be jailed within days after the verdict.

I think the extradition process is going to drag on as long as Knox's team can.
Sollecito will long be behind bars before Knox finds herself there.

I don't think so. A couple of academics and retirees from America have postulated their theories about what really happened at a crime scene in Italy. With none of the postulators having been to the crime scene, it is little more than an academic discussion.

The DNA is quite straight forward and has been confirmed by independent sources. Circumstantial evidence is sufficient for a conviction in America. When there are also bloody footprints and DNA evidence, it's pretty much a slam dunk.

In Italy, there are numerous opportunities to come forward with either new evidence, or a new interpretation of old evidence. No one is disadvantaged as a result of committing murder in Italy rather than the United States.

I don't know how the 'footprint evidence' was relied upon either, 5 points of measurement (including both of the big toe) did not match RS:

The competence of the prosecution footprint expert should be questioned. Wasn't this the same expert that matched RS's shoe to a print in Meredith's bedroom the had the wrong number of rings in the pattern?
