This man was working hard to make a better life for himself and his 3 children. Why would someone do this to him???

No judgment on the victim at all, but drugs maybe? It really doesn't take much of a drug debt to make some drug dealers extremely angry and vindictive. It's also entirely possible to lead a 'normal' life and use drugs, even just occasionally, so I'm not casting any kind of aspersions on the victim.

I agree. Also getting an education can be expensive, and difficult to do on top of a full time job. So money could have been tight, especially with 3 kids. People can find unsavory ways to make some quick money.

I looked for arrest records but I couldn't really tell if any were him. Appears there are a couple of guys by this name in LA and perhaps in TX a while back. I couldn't tell for sure so I haven't posted them.

shot in the leg and immediately decapitated. That is a painfull death.

I wonder if this means he did know Jeremy Jackson. Who does "we" refer to? Could mean the community at large, the immediate neighborhood, his network of friends and family or, more specifically, his extended family. Could mean another funeral to attend personally, or another funeral in the community. IDK

This makes it all the worse. As I pointed out upthread, the house where the head was found was near a middle school and the torso was found only a couple of blocks away.

I hope Mr Jackson's children are in a safe place, and I hope for the sake of all of the children in that area (and the victim), this crime is solved quickly and that everyone even remotely involved is arrested and brought to justice.

I'm all seriousness, I hope he is identified so his family can grieve and have closure. It is really disgusting that some people are capable of such heinous acts.

I'm sure that statement wasn't meant the way you portrayed it (possible cause of death -- overly zealous application of garrote-like tourniquet to stop nose bleed). I think it meant until an autopsy is actually performed, the severed head could just be a post-mortem artifact, something done after the fact and not the cause of death. Thinking along the lines of not assuming a body found floating in a lake is a drowning victim until water is found in the lungs.

JJJs burned torso was found about a block or so away from where his decapitated head was found outdoors posed on steps leading into a home. Seems the story goes that JJJ was shot in the leg to incapacitate; followed by the decapitation, which was done with great anger, according to reports.

JJJ does have a rap sheet. This murder, coincidentally, falls with two other horrific deaths. The first was a mother who left her son, KF, inside of her car as she went to shop in Kroger Market. Car thieves stole her car with her son inside. The crooks beat the 5yo child and shot him 6 times.

Then, the child's great uncle, a well-liked, youth mentoring barber, was shot when a masked gunman encountered the barber at his business.

FBI has been called in to assist so I anticipate MS-13 or Aryan Nation or such to be responsible. Either way, chances are that it involves a vindictive Drug Gang/Cartel. Former Chief James Kolar once wrote that there are no coincidences in a murder investigation. They are clues.

This article mentions JJJ and also Kingston Frazier. While crime may be down in Jackson, the crimes that have occurred there have been, as the headline states, horrendous. JPD officials should not be patting themselves on the back for the decreased crime rate, imo.

I wouldn't doubt that MS-13 was involved in JJJ's death. They will murder innocent people just to intimidate communities, and they commit horrendous violent acts as we have seen here. Again, MOO

It would seem that I should have read further before commenting. If this victim -- (modsnip) -- was found in two separate parcels, Parcel A being the head (identifiable, therefore sans flambé) and Parcel B being the remaining components, post-BBQ, then it would make sense the head was separated prior to immolation, and therefore the latter injurious act not possibly a cause of death, or pain.

I checked again for updates, suspects, arrests etc and don't see anything.

His severed head was found on a porch 2 years ago. No killer found.

Jackson Police spokesman Sgt. Roderick Holmes recently said no arrests have been made. The investigation into Jeremy's killing is ongoing. Investigators have identified persons of interest and "certain information is still being analyzed," he said.

Holmes said he does not have any additional details. The FBI is working with JPD on the investigation.
