He was on a trip with Wilderness Outfitters, a commercial outfitting business based in Missoula. One of its services is training on how to become a guide. Hellmuth was a student in guide training, Van Setten said.
A search failed to turn up Hellmuth. The outfitting crew hiked to the K Bar L Ranch, which is located where the North and South forks of the Sun River meet, and asked for help.
