NC NC - Abby Patterson, 20, Lumberton, 5 Sept 2017

I'm hoping someone will speak up & say she did know these 2 men -- otherwise, IMO, this has trafficking written all over it. Please don't let it be that. Sweet-looking beautiful young woman. Hoping she is safe and not in danger. Worrisome.
Found safe. Back to Abby

My theory is that someone (probably boyfriend) drove Abby to an NA meeting in Lumberton. According to na.org, they meet in Lumberton at Our Primary Purpose Building, 120 W 6th Street. They meet almost every day, also Tuesdays, at 12.00 PM. She left her house 11.30 AM.
Now the way to the NA meeting goes RIGHT THROUGH the area where three victims of most likely the same killer were found, and the area is a hot spot for drugs and stuff. This could be relevant but I don't think it is. She would often go through that area on the way to "downtown" Lumberton.

I'm not sure if police are allowed to say if her destination was an NA meeting, as they are anonymous, but that could be why they won't say anything about where she was dropped off even though they know.

She could have met someone at that meeting, and they could have made plans to go somewhere to do drugs or whatever. At that point she could have overdosed. Heroin addicts often OD when they do it again after a long break. And maybe that other person she might have been with covered it up instead of going to the authorities...?

What do you think?

I think this is a good idea to explore, but I have thought of a couple of things that might be problematic.

Reportedly, Abby told her mom that she would be back in an hour. Meetings last for an hour, so it would have been more than an hour she would be gone.

Also, this acquaintance is said to be a well-known drug user and small-time dealer, I can't cite a source here, but that doesn't mean it can't be considered. He is not known to kindly give people rides to meetings. After I saw that, I became very suspicious of the guy in the brown Buick, but the police have talked to this person and apparently they don't have any/enough evidence to bring forth a charge.

It's certainly possible. I have felt all along that she was probably bored and had time on her hands -- she was anxious to get out of L'ton, but felt that she should spend some time with her mom -- she probably had no one to really hang with and to do some harmless things -- so all this may have boiled up to her wanting "just a little bit of a taste," and she knew whom to call. They went wherever, and she OD'd, or her "friend" guaranteed drugs if she would do some "escorting" with some folks he knew. Then, something bad happened and he somehow got rid of her body in a "who-knoze-where" location. LE may have tried to find her or her contact -- could not and now they have no idea where to look or whom to ask about her.

And one more thing,
:wagon:

FBI highlights Graham, Patterson cases | Robesonian
Patterson, who was 20 at the time, has not been seen since she left her East Ninth Street home in Lumberton on Sept. 5, 2017. She was seen getting into a brown Buick. Patterson has two distinguishing features, a tattoo of a bird on her left shoulder and a birthmark on the back of her left thigh.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $5,000 each for information leading to Graham or Patterson.

Well, here is the line from the FBI poster:
"Scars and Marks -- Patterson has a tattoo of a bird on her shoulder, and a birthmark on the back of her right thigh."
ABBY LYNN PATTERSON — FBI

Wait & see...

Someone commented in the UID thread that Abby's tattoo was 3 little birds but I can't find a verifiable source for that anywhere. It seems like the posters and FBI info would have stated if 3 birds instead of one. I'm still looking for photo of Abby's tattoo.

Nothing new in the MSM as far as I can tell. I did find a Missing Person poster/flyer with a pic of her which shows something on her left arm, best I can tell. If it is a tattoo, it doesn't look like a bird to me.

It also mentions a Florida friend.

Police say they are "still talking" to the young man last seen with Patterson, who lived in Florida and was visiting her family when she disappeared."

The UID has been identified but she is not Abby.

Both good news and bad news on poor Abby. The Florida location made me think it was a definite possibility. So her mom still worries and wonders, I'm sure. It's been a long time since we've seen any news on the missing Abby other than this.
Thank for letting us know.:(
