Sad, she's almost been missing as long as she was alive, 44 years.
Her daughter reported her missing three days later, November 18th, 1980 according to the newspaper clipping.

I've tried several times to get someone at LPD or DCSO to talk to me about this case. There is a new cold case investigator at Lexington PD and I am working with him on with a recent missing persons case. Nancy Bunly. Going to talk with him about this case.

Were you able to make any progress?

This article indicates she gave her mother $ for watching her child presumably for the night and that there was some evidence she may have been in Dillon, SC shortly after her disappearance (with local LE reaching out to SLED). It also speaks to the kind of person she was from the viewpoint of her family and friends, the fact she took nothing with her, was looking forward to her birthday only 2 days after she disappeared, did not pick up her unemployment check, had prior domestic disputes, etc.

Hello, I am her grand daughter I would love to talk to you and find out everything you know. My mother talks about her still and I would love to bring some reassurance or something to my mom. And know more about my grandma if you have any new details.

Hello. I so wish I could tell you something, but I do not know any more than what is in the news articles I posted. Being in NC, I have a special interest in her case. I would encourage you and your family to stay on law enforcement about your grandmother's case, making sure they have all the information they need to find her, and share it. It's hard to believe 45 years have now passed with no answers and I'm so sorry. While there is no "perfect time", I would also encourage you to reach out to the media for a story on her case - often "anniversaries" help encourage their involvement. If you have any issues reading the articles I posted, I am happy to get them to you another way. Please know that I (and others here and in other groups) have thought about her, posted about her, and wondered what happened. If it hasn't already been done, I would encourage your Mom (and other family) to submit DNA so that if she was found deceased or will be, a match to your family can be made. Please continue to stay in touch here - there are many people who have far more knowledge than I that may be able to help. Peace.

Hello Elizabeth,

I have been interested in your grandmother's case for some time. I have been working with Lexington PD on Nancy Bunly's case searching water and woods throughout Davidson County and surrounding areas. While searching, I am looking for any vehicle underwater.

I will reach out to Davidson County Sheriff's Department next week to see if I can get them to open the case file so I have more information to work with. Having a family member willing to work with me on the case would help in getting the Sheriffs Department to be cooperative.

All really good suggestions. Feel free to DM me to discuss this case.
