"We believe we have found the body of 13-year-old Hania Aguilar," Lumberton Police Chief Michael McNeill said during a press conference. "But the final confirmation will be done by dental comparisons."

Andy de la Rocha, a senior FBI agent, said investigators have not identified a person of interest in connection with the girl's slaying.

could the tips that lead them to search this area be as simple as someone capturing the SUV on video? Maybe that is why they have been asking for more video to narrow down the area?

-again 4 and 5 might not be a valuable variable, especially when considering this as an opportunistic crime.

Body Found in Robeson County Preliminarily Identified as Missing Lumberton Teen
The Lumberton Police Department and the FBI received notification late this afternoon from the North Carolina Medical Examiner’s Office that a body found yesterday is believed to be Hania Aguilar. A final confirmation will be done with an official dental record comparison.

“We are absolutely devastated. I wish we had a different outcome for Hania’s family, for the community, and for the hundreds of law enforcement officers and searchers who put everything they had into finding her alive,” said Lumberton Police Chief Michael McNeill.

After the comment was made at the presser about a body of water that was not a pond, I remembered the swamplike area on the other side of the road on Google maps. However, in helicopter footage, it is pretty clear that law-enforcement vehicles are situated exclusively on the pond side. Some folks have mentioned the neighbor a couple that were interviewed last night saying something about an abandoned well? I only saw the short version of the interview with them. Can someone fill us in on more about the well? Anyone else have thoughts about the mysterious body of water?

if i remember from the fb live video last night the locals said there was a well in the area, and a swampy area. That is IIRC

Could be a retention pond too. It is for rain and run off waters. They are swampy, we have them in FL.

Retention ponds are man made and not very deep.
