NC NC - Kyle Fleischmann, 24, Charlotte, 9 Nov 2007 - #2

Like many people who simply seem to vanish into thin air, this case is chilling and heartbreaking.

The phone calls made to his father's office at such an early time in the morning when he knew nobody would be there add that extra element to this case that makes it stick out. That, plus it does have all the elements associated with the so called Smiley Face Killings (I know not everyone believes that theory, though I think there are WAY too many young men who have gone missing from bars across the country only to be found in or near bodies of water for it to be just a coincidence).

I think sometimes, unfortunately, the obvious explanation is the correct one: I feel that Kyle unfortunately met the wrong person or people that fateful morning and was murdered; the body was obviously disposed of very successfully. It would be great for his family to have closure, so I hope they keep searching.

Kyle's mother was ill with cancer. Excuse me if it's been posted (it's been a while since I've been here), how is she? Did she pass away? Does anyone know if there are any active investigations into what happened to Kyle. Kyle and Brittanee Drexel are two cases that have stayed with me.

I believe his mother is still alive - I am not sure if she is still battling cancer or if she is in remission.

There is a Help Find Kyle FB page too, but not many updates lately on there - https://www.facebook.com/groups/6326026817/

Just saw the show Vanished and they had Kyle's story. This is really close to home. I wish for this family they would find some answers. It will be 7 years this November. Prayers for his family and friends.

this case is so baffling i have also heard about theorys that this could be in connection to the smiley face killers if there is a real thing which i do believe something is going on but it seems like most of the victims they think are connected to that have been found so if he was connected why hasnt he been found yet it frustrats me bc i can not wrap my mind around how ppl just vanish without a trace

This is such a strange case. I live in Charlotte and every time there is a report of skeletal remains found on the news, I pray it is Kyle. It has been far too long. He needs to go home to his family. :(

Angels_Not_Forgotten, it's nice to know that Kyle hasn't been forgotten. Someone knows something and I hope and pray that their conscience will force them to tell what they know.

He probably ran across some gang members of some sort in downtown charlotte, and, since he was drunk, began mouthing off. I bet we can all guess how that ended up

Is Charlotte full of gangs? I haven't heard that theory before. How did you come up with it?

Yes there are many gangs here. Lots of locals think this theory.

Charlotte has plenty of gangs/gang activity but I seriously doubt his disappearance is related to them. I think he bumped into a very bad person. Lots of rural areas, small bodies of water, woods, etc. within a 30 min drive of downtown Charlotte. Lots of folks from rural areas go to the city to party. I think he can across someone, a local from the outskirts, or one with family that has such land, and for whatever reason they went off to hang out some more, maybe an after party or just making new friends and chillin'. I know I was stupidly "brave" in my youth and went a lot of place to do a lot of things after hours with people I had just met but perceived to be okay- like making new friends in a very risky way. Maybe he went off to do just that and when he realized he was in danger he stared to call any number he could? Maybe he had "dad" listed for several numbers, ex: "dad home" "dad work", even if not labeled specifically he knew the skew in his phonebook (this was 2006 phones were much simpler then and didn't have work/home/cell sections under one name. It was just name & number). Or was impaired and could find the right "dad" number to call? All of this is merely opinion/thoughts. I've never heard of the serial killer connection. Might go look at that one some more. Was that ever suggested in MSM or just speculation?

Bumping for Kyle. Any new updates?

Watching the 2011 missing with Beth holloway about Kyle. So sad. I wish someone would just come forward.

Kyle Fleischmann missing 8 years, dad says 'don't ever walk alone'

Kyle's dad, Dick Fleischmann, reached out and asked if I could relay two things on behalf of his family:

1) If you know anything, contact that FB page.

2) If you go out at night, don't ever walk anywhere alone.

Might I add the following: Someone out there knows something. After investigations, both with police and through privately, hired specialists - it is clear someone knows something. It is mind-boggling there are no clues.

We here in The Queen city will never stop remembering or looking for Kyle. Charlotte is a place where this kind of thing doesn't happen very often.

This case, like the Brian Shaffer and Jason Jolkowski disappearances, is just SO baffling. Someone HAD to see something in both cases. Otherwise, it seems these three young men literally vanished into thin air.

It seems like if this were the case they wouldn't have bothered to hide the body so well he hasn't been found yet... Just MO, though. I hope he is found so his family can have closure!
