Raleigh, N.C. — Three of four Apex teens accused of killing a friend in 2008 were recently charged with attempting to commit the crime five days before they succeeded, according to court documents.

Each of the four -- Allegra Rose Dahlquist, of 601 Walcott Way in Cary; Ryan Patrick Hare, of 100 Walnut Hill Court in Apex; Aadil Shahid Khan, of 901 Bristol Blue St. in Apex; and Drew Logan Shaw, of 107 Woolard Way in Apex -- faces one count of first-degree murder for the death of Matthew Josiah Silliman, 18, a student at Apex High School.

Hare and Shaw were also indicted on one count of conspiracy to commit murder.

Wake County deputies found Silliman's body on Dec. 2, 2008, at an unoccupied property in New Hill owned by members of Dahlquist's family. Silliman was reported missing on Nov. 26, and he was the subject of a Silver Alert. Arrest warrants said the homicide occurred Nov. 30.

Dahlquist, Hare and Kahn now face additional charges of attempted first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder for an incident on Nov. 25. No details about that incident were immediately available Thursday.

An Apex man on Friday pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree murder and conspiracy in the 2008 slaying of a high school student.

Ryan Patrick Hare also pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiring to murder Matthew Josiah Silliman, 18, whose body was found Dec. 2, 2008, at an unoccupied property in New Hill.

Lawyers have indicated that three other people charged with murder in Silliman's death – Allegra Rose Dahlquist, Aadil Shahid Khan and Drew Logan Shaw – will accept plea deals in exchange for their cooperation and testimony against Hare.

Dahlquist got 30 to 36 years in prison, and Khan was sentenced to 32-40 years.
That's some serious hard time. I wonder when they'll be eligible for parole.

They are cold blooded killers,they are very lucky they did not get life.IMO they are very dangerous and depraved, this was a friend they killed.

I just watched this case on 'Murder Among Friends' on ID TV. What an unbelievably bizarre case. And the person Ryan Hare made up to blame for this situation. Mr. Khan admitted he doubted it was true because this seemed like something Ryan would make up. And he participated in the murder anyway. I don't especially care what music you like and I know teens party, but have parents just given up on teaching right and wrong?! In these kids cases, it seems none of them even questioned or wondered if this was something they should be involved with. That, I thought, was a basic learned part of yourself that kicked in on almost a visceral level. But I guess if you were never taught or had psychiatric care but never got the correct diagnosis, this can be an outcome. Shocking and sad.
