Found Deceased NC - Sarah Hill, 33, Blue Hollow Road, Mount Airy, Surry County, 6 Jun 2018 *found in 2022*

Sadly, outside of the Charley Project page there really isn't much in news or from LE on Sarah's case. The previously linked article on 02 August 2020 is the last I see on the case.

The discovery of human remains in northwestern Stokes County is believed to have solved a mystery surrounding the whereabouts of a woman who went missing from Surry County in 2018, Sarah Ashley Hill.

Various media accounts in the area say the discovery occurred Tuesday in the yard of a vacant home in the 1700 block of Asbury Road in the Westfield community, and there were strong indications Thursday that the remains are those of Hill.

The Surry Sheriff’s Office spokesman further refused to say if authorities are working based on this theory, while promising that more details would emerge in addition to those already made public.

“I do know there will be a press release coming out,” Hudson said.

Authorities in Patrick County, Virginia, also have been heavily involved in the investigation from the onset due to the missing woman having an address there, and Patrick Sheriff Dan Smith provided a hint Thursday of what that official announcement will contain.

“This is a sad outcome, our prayers are with Sara’s (Sarah’s) family, and my office stands ready to assist North Carolina authorities in any way we can,” Smith stated.

Detectives found the remains of a woman missing since 2018 under the floor of a house in Westfield, NC.

Sarah Ashley Hill was reported missing out of Patrick County, Virginia in August 2018. According to Patrick County investigators, she hadn't been seen or heard from since June of that year.

During the investigation, the Surry County Sheriff's Office checked three different properties on King Park Circle in Mount Airy. The investigation eventually led deputies to a property in Stokes County -- where Hill was last seen around the time of her disappearance.

On Monday, the Surry County Sheriff's Office got a search warrant for a property on Asbury Road in Westfield. Detectives used special equipment to move dirt and terrain at the property and it led to them finding human remains underneath the floorboard of the house.

On Thursday, an autopsy revealed the remains were those of Hill.

Detectives said they won't have any more information to release at this time in order to protect the integrity of the investigation.

The body of a Virginia woman who went missing four years ago was discovered under the floors of “a preexisting structure” in rural North Carolina. Sarah Ashley Hill “had not been seen or heard from since June 2018,” according to a joint statement released Oct. 21 by sheriff’s offices in Stokes and Surry counties. A cause of death has not been revealed and no arrest was announced.

Sarah Ashley Hill“We can only imagine how hard this has been for the family of Ms. Hill. Investigators from the Patrick County Sheriff’s Office (VA), Surry County Sheriff’s Office, Stokes County Sheriff’s Office, as well as the NC SBI agents that worked on this case have done a tremendous job, and they never gave up. Although nothing will bring a loved one back, we can only hope this helps provide some closure to Ms. Hill’s family,” Stokes County Sheriff Joey Lemons said

I knew the suspect years before Sarah went missing. He has a very sick and twisted past. I pray they can lock him up forever. He never should have been on the streets to begin with. I pray for her family though. I can't imagine the pain they have been dealing with these years.

Is LAH the one who refused the search back in 2018?

Any possible connection to him and the others missing in the area?

There have been Facebook rumors that he is the one who refused the search but I don't know that it was ever confirmed by LE. When I heard where her body was found, he was the first person I thought of. When I knew him, probably around 2012, he was living in a camper in the woods in that same area. I hope they searched that property too.
