Hi, Niner -- I just did a search in Wake County District and Superior Courts for "Merrit,J" and below is what I found.
No mention of Justin, as you can see below. Notice that the search included District and Superior Courts.
I do not use Facebook, so I cannot see what was mentioned in Post #688, nor can I see the source.
The Docket postings don't go very far in the future.
So again, we wait. As usual.

Hope you're doing fine & dandy, my friend. I'll check on Merritt in a couple of weeks.

I stopped following cases from there! LOL!

I'm doing fine & dandy!! Had a difficult time after my 2nd surgery - but it has gotten better now. It just hurts a "little"....

If he was paid, how was he supposed to return home? Unless, the person was taking him back to his residence and who would do that? Of course paying him and them driving him home would allow the person to do something nefarious and take the money back but how did he pay that is traceable if a credit card transaction there are cameras. Other than cash which is not traceable there should be video. How was the other person arriving at the scene? So many questions.

Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, and the CashApp are just 4 of many ways to pay without being caught on video. Most also have a feature where you can dispute or take back/charge back a transaction. This is such sad news.

Raleigh, N.C. — Friends and family are remembering a Raleigh man who died a year ago this week.

Law enforcement said William Anderson "Andy" Banks Jr., 39, was meeting a potential buyer he met through Craigslist to sell his 2011 Range Rover Sport when he was murdered last September. Justin Merritt, 34, of Danville, Va., was charged with murder in Banks' death.

Now, the Raleigh community is honoring Banks and his family's fight for justice.

If Justin Merritt is still in prison awaiting the Andy Banks trial, isn't it unusual that nothing seems to indicate where he is imprisoned in Wake County? Could he be in VA? Does anyone have any idea when the trial will be held? I feel so sad for his parents and family having to wait so long.

In my notes I have - he had an arraignment hearing on 10/7/20. And that is the last I heard about "what" is going on with this case.

I do have @Spartygirl as the person to ask - so hopefully she can help us on this.

According to@raleighpolice, a body believed to be that of William Anderson Banks has been recovered with the assistance of the Pittsylvania Co. Sheriff's Office. The body will be sent to the coroner in Roanoke, VA, for autopsy and positive identification.

So I went to look under the VA - Pittsylvania County records - but unfortunately, I'm getting a "time out" on there - it's been a hit & miss on this court site for me.

So - if anyone can get into this:

Also, was an accomplice ever located for transporting Justin Merritt to Cameron Village from Danville on the afternoon of the Range Rover transaction appointment? There must be someone who drove Merritt to Raleigh, unless Merritt drove a junker that he abandoned somewhere, the latter also highly unlikely.
I know that the COVID slowed all court cases, but there seems to have been total silence about the Andy Banks case. Is it usually this silent until the court date is planned?

I have in my notes that his bond was for $2M & judge changed it to no bond - so thinking he is still incarcerated.... but we just can't find him... charged with 1st degree felony murder, plus.

I found no current Circuit Court charges related to Banks. This is what's on the current site for him, in City of Danville, VA. Pittsylvania County show no charges.
