This seems like an excellent one for DNA resolution- no other way to solve really.

Investigative genetic genealogists with the DNA Doe Project have found that Lincoln County Rail Car John Doe has ancestors from St. Landry Parish in Louisiana, while he also has links to the Houston and Beaumont areas of Texas. If there is anyone in your family tree you know to be missing, or you recognize the man in Carl Koppelman’s new facial reconstruction, please contact us at [email protected].

If the age estimate is correct, this UID would have been born around 1900. Has there been a case of a UID with a birthdate this early solved via genetic genealogy yet?

He was probably identified! His story will be featured in Episode 4 of Naming the Dead of the collaboration between the DDP and National Geographic. I think they only feature solved cases of identified John/Jane Does.

This is a photo of already identified people. The man with dreadlocks at the top is our John Doe.

It kind of just looks like an edited version of his current reconstruction? I don't think many ~60 year old men were wearing their hair in dreads in the early 1960s.

It's also possible that they identified him but no photos of him could be found. If he were transient and/or had very little family (or very little family who are still alive who might have a photo) it's possible they may have edited the reconstruction to look more like they believe he looked like, based on people who knew him or his existing family. I think that's been done before with other Does who were identified but no photos of them exist.

For a lot of Does who were estranged from family, school photos are the go-to source for finding a picture, but if he was 60 years old he would have gone to school from 1905 until the early 1920s, if he went to school at all - in 1910 72% of children went to school, but that means almost 30% didn't. Upper class schools probably had school photography quite early but it probably wasn't a priority for schools in working class areas.

Someone on their Facebook page asked about the episode that will feature this John Doe, since he has not been publicly identified. The DDP responded that the series will have some surprises.

Also, maybe they found out he was much younger than previously estimated. We’ll know soon.

Somebody watched it? I think all 6 episodes are now available on Disney+ or Hulu. I am still figuring out how to watch it in Europe.

I’ve only been able to find Episode 1 about Keith Bibbs.

I finished the series and, unfortunately this man hasn't been identified. The younger photo is an age-regression image of him.
