In response to our earlier discussion, I made two maps...
The first is more zoomed in. We see the city of Wilber to the right and there we have the home, highschool, and pond that was drained in close proximity, The yellow line shows that it is 1.57 miles as the crow flies from just north of the home to the 1 mile long (approx) search area we were discussing located between Turkey Creek and the airport. Note that I marked Turkey Creek where Google Earth dropped me. Being a creek, it doesn't really have a pinpoint location.

For the second map, we zoom out. The red lines show the counties, Clay County to the west where Sydney was found, that site expanded into the 21 square mile search is located (the green pins) and Saline County to the East where Wilber is located. The blue line shows it is 52.25 miles as the crow flies from the home area in Saline County to the center of the search area in Clay County. Traveling west from Wilber, you leave on HWY 41 west for about 11.3 miles, then Hwy 41 jogs up north slightly before continuing west. Right where 41 jogs north, you can go south and catch Hwy 74 west instead. These two highways are the two ways into Clay county from Wilber and make up the north and south boundaries of the 21 sqr mile search are in Clay County. Although authorities have not released the exact location Sydney was found, they said they expanded their search area after finding her so I am assuming she was found somewhere inside that 21 sqr mile search zone.
