Another girl found in a Dutch canal was recently added to DoeNetwork and couldn't find an existing thread for her. (And that prefix should really read 'Netherlands'!)

So, I guess it's fair to say Jane Doe was dismembered?
Also, was her hair dyed dark blond, or was that her natural hair colour? I know DoeNetwork can often be inaccurate when it comes to the information in international cases (translation mistakes, perhaps?).

Just came across this uid woman and also noting another uid female found in a suitcase in the Netherlands, will also post this link on that thread.

Makes me sad...I was just living "around the corner" for years and years....wasn't into the unidentified yet....happy and thankful...for not knowing all the crap going around. I felt very safe....

She is listed on the so called coldcasekalender 2019. In 2019, the police published a cold-case calendar for the third year in a row. With this investigators bring long-term cases back to the attention again, hoping for a breakthrough.

Vrouw aangetroffen - Onbekende vrouw - Cold Case - coldcasekalender.nl

Body parts of a woman are found in the Lauriergracht and Prinsengracht. More body parts of the same woman are found in the Egelantiersgracht. They were in a gray-blue suitcase. Her fingertips and toes were removed. The woman's head was never found. The woman is probably between 25 and 45 years old and 1.60 m to 1.70 m tall. She has a normal to put build. She probably has wavy dark blond (bleached) hair. Her womb has been surgically removed. On her stomach there is a scar from surgery. Do you have an idea who this woman can be? Do you have information about the case? Then pass this on.

In this article there is a video embedded were this case is mentioned. The police officer tells that her uterus was operational removed and she has a noticeable scar from that operation.

So slightly different from the other info in the doe file where they say the scars on the abdomen may indicate at a cesarean section.

1992: Body parts in the canals
In the Lauriergracht and Prinsengracht on 6 September 1992 various body parts of a woman were found. An hour later a report is made of a floating gray-blue suitcase in the Egelantiersgracht. Even more body parts are found in this. The finger tips and toes are cut off. It is a woman and she is probably between 25 and 45 years old, between 1.60 and 1.70 meters long and has a normal to put build. She has dark blond (bleached) hair and her womb was surgically removed. Her head was never found.

Not related, but possibly something to consider, imo, speculation
Dutch prosecutors say father confined children and abused them in remote farmhouse
January 21, 2020
''In October, police found Van Dorsten and five adult siblings at the farm in Ruinerwold in the northern Netherlands after a sixth sibling escaped and reached a nearby village bar.''
The six siblings and their father had lived on the farm since 2010, and had never had their births registered or been to school, as required by Dutch law.

''Their mother died in 2004, and three more older siblings had left the family before they went into seclusion.''

Totally not related IMO

The case

On 6 September 1992, in the centre of Amsterdam, a passer-by found two hands at Lauriergracht; when the canal was searched, two lower legs were found. Subsequently, a suitcase containing the torso of a female was found in the canal at Egelantiersgracht. Some days later, more body parts were found at Prinsengracht. Forensic evidence established that all body parts belonged to the same person. However, this person’s identity has not yet been established.

As the woman’s head was never found, it is impossible to create a facial reconstruction. Perhaps someone may recognise the suitcase in which the woman’s torso was found.

The woman was of normal to heavy build. Her shoe size was approximately 37. Examination of the body has revealed that her uterus had been surgically removed (hysterectomy).

Perhaps you noticed that a woman suddenly disappeared in late August / early September of 1992, or you recognize the suitcase in which her torso was found?

It almost looks like the hands (without fingertips) were just lying out there. Somehow it feels strange that the hands were left like that and the other parts were in the canal. For certain the person who did this didn't do much effort to conceal the body(parts). Did they think that without head and fingertips she would never be identified? Just pondering about the modus operandi. Could this have been an underworld job?

I wonder why the information about a probable scar keeps changing all the time. In the last info there is this:

Examination of the body revealed that she had had a hysterectomy; it is unclear if this surgery left a visible scar.

In this article there is a video embedded were this case is mentioned. The police officer tells that her uterus was operational removed and she has a noticeable scar from that operation.
