WOODLAND TOWNSHIP, NJ — An "endangered" Burlington County woman with dementia has gone missing, according to State Police. The law-enforcement agency asked the public Monday for information that could help find Denise Smith.
Denise, 51, left her home at about 1:15 a.m. Monday on Route 563 in Woodland Township, police said.

Denise is a white woman with brown/gray hair and brown eyes, officials said. She's 5 feet, 5 inches tall and 125 pounds.

She was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and white sneakers — as pictured above — police said.

Anyone with information can contact State Police Troop "C" Red Lion Station at 609-859-2282 or the New Jersey State Police Missing Persons Unit at 609-882-2000 ext. 2554. The agency welcomes anonymous tips.

In this article Denice Smith's niece explains her health condition. She suffered a traumatic brain injury, and because of that, developed epilepsy. Over the past few months her seizures have become more aggressive and she went into a coma. She was in the hospital for months, and when she came out of the coma she was in a disoriented state. After she has a seizure she doesn't recognize family members. She says she wants to go home, even though she is home. She sometimes answers to "Denice Smith" and sometimes to her maiden name, "Denice Johnson." The niece mentions several areas where there have been possible sightings, which makes the family think that someone might have innocently given her a ride somewhere.

This is a quote from the article:

we are getting very discouraged because we keep getting “sightings” but nobody who has called or commented on social media stopped to grab her and make sure that she’s safe. If anybody does manage to find her, please call the police immediately.

Please check your cameras and trail cameras.
