Las Vegas Casino Gun Rules
Legally, you can carry a weapon on private property, even if there are “No Gun” signs on the property. These signs do not have any lawful weight behind them, and the owner cannot force you to disarm. The owner can, however, ask you to leave. If you disobey this order on private property, the owner can have you arrested for armed trespassing. Most businesses in Nevada are firearm friendly – with the exception of casinos.

If a casino does not allow guns, you cannot bring a gun inside. Even though “No Gun” signs do not hold the weight of law, police can arrest you for trespassing if you disobey the order to disarm or leave the casino. It is not technically breaking the law to carry in a casino, but you have to comply with establishment rules. You can, however, bring a weapon into bars. It’s legal to carry a weapon even if you’re consuming alcohol. Keep in mind that you cannot legally have a firearm on your person if your blood alcohol content (BAC) level exceeds 0.10%.

Marilou Danley’s lawyer reads statement on her behalf claiming Paddock told her he’d found her a cheap ticket to Philippines 2 weeks ago.

The lawyer relayed the statement really awkwardly IMO. Anyway, so she thought the trip home and $100k wire was to break up with her, but did she ask him why he sent all that money? Like i mentioned yesterday, he had to have either had all of her Philippines bank info saved somewhere, or he had to ask her for the account number and Swift code in order to send the wire. I mean if my SO wired me $100k to buy a home I’d question it.

I’m not sure I believe she knew what he was going to do, but I don’t think the statement her lawyer read is the real story. JMO and subject to change.

You guys are misunderstanding the point of her post. Perhaps reading the post she was replying to and then reading hers as a reply to that post like it is a challenge. jmo

I was agreeing with and replying to DatelineFan.

I am confused about a report I heard on KFI talk radio in the car just now.

The reporter said that witnesses reported seeing the shooter playing high stakes slots poker in the VIP room of Mandalay, the very day of the shooting.

And he supposedly used Marilou's ID in and around the hotel that weekend.

Wouldn't this hotel have a rule against an employee and/or her spouse or family GAMBLING on the premises? Every casino I know of has a strict rule like that.

I agree, it is not at all attractive imo.

I agree, ugly decorating. I have been in a few Vegas suites and most of them were hideously decorated, very wild patterns, etc. But I was in a suite in the Bellagio for a party once and it was very elegant.

I wonder if the hotel brought the sign out and posted it AFTER the tragedy?

Probably not. No firearms is standard policy for MGM properties. (The owner of this hotel).

Searching the web I found blog posts from long before the shooting complaining about the Mandaly Bay's no firearms policy.

I just read a thing today that she hadn't worked there for a couple years. Have no chance of finding it now so jmo

I can't figure out the gun laws in in Las Vegas. Some places you can carry EVEN IF the sign says no guns allowed. Maybe there are different rules for the hotels, even if attached to a casino?

Wow. So did he use her employee card to move around the premises or not?

I find it hard to believe a casino wouldn't invalidate an employee card after the employee left the job.

Yep, they are often quite gaudy and garish. I think they want to keep people awake... to gamble or to otherwise spend money!

I see it now :blushing: Yes, two chairs arms-to-arms. DH and I thought it could be some kind of tub/Jacuzzi

On a personal note, I don't like the décor and would not be comfortable in that hotel.

I thought it was a tub/jacuzzi as well!!! Albeit, an extremely ugly one. Not a fan of the decor either. Give me a charming, little B and B any day over this.

Welcome to Vegas lol. But the casinos don’t want you spending time in your room anyway.

Never been to Vegas, and never really wanted to go there. Blinding neon, massive hotel structures, glitter and glitz, crowds, etc. don't appeal to me. I wouldn't gamble; DH visits casino on cruise ships, but it's not a major thing for him, either. The only thing that I might like would be some of the fine dining establishments in Vegas, and possibly a handful of headline entertainers. Beyond that, the nation's playground doesn't appeal to me.

I don't think it is an employee card but rather a gambler's card, sort of like a store card provides businesses with the info that you spend money--lots of money ---so you can get comps etc.

I am thinking maybe the reports of her being an employee are incorrect and that he was actually just putting her players card into the slots when he played.

Accroding to news sources, he met her when she was a hostess at a casino. I agree it is probably a player's/gambler's card.

If my husband and I didn’t like to gamble I wouldn’t have any desire to go either. Plus we live in NY so we have Atlantic City and access to all the entertainment we could ever want or need. That’s being said we did get married in Vegas this summer lol. A couple of the newer casinos like cosmopolitan and aria are much more updated.

Yes, this is why there are no clocks in casinos and the cell phone service is terrible. They don’t want you to know the time and they def don’t want you in your room.
