Sunset Park closed as officials search for missing 3-year-old

Officials have closed Sunset Park as Park Police and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police search for a missing child.

The 3-year-old boy was reported missing at around 9:19am Sunday.

Las Vegas police search for missing 3-year-old at Sunset Park

The boy was reported missing at 9:10 a.m. at the roughly 325-acre Sunset Park, 2601 E. Sunset Road, Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Kris Burke said.

According to Clark County, the massive park has picnic areas, nine softball fields, two little league fields, eight basketball courts, five playgrounds, several miles of walk paths, a fitness course, a splash pad, a disc golf course, a dog park, a pond, a boat ramp, seven sand volleyball courts and eight tennis courts and restrooms.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Missing Persons Detail is asking for the public's assistance in locating Daniel Theriot.

has identified the the child as 3-year-old Daniel Theriot. Police say he might possibly be in severe emotional distress and might need medical assistance. He was last seen wearing around 9 a.m. wearing a red t-shirt w/ Lightning McQueen logo & black/red plaid pants.
