She got what I figured. This wasn't what Nancy figured.

Salzman, 66, (leaving court) was sentenced to 42 months, a $150,000 fine and three years of supervised probation in Brooklyn federal court, New York, Wednesday morning

Almost from the time she pled guilty to one count of Racketeering Conspiracy on April 13, 2019, Nancy had been telling people that she did not expect to serve any time in prison.

After she was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a double mastectomy, she became even more confident that Judge Garaufis would not incarcerate her in federal prison – which would pretty much ensure she would receive sub-par health care.
Lots of cash income, new designer outfits, fine wines – and, according to several sources, her first boyfriend/lover in quite some time.

Salzman said she was 'horrified and ashamed' of what she had done and claimed she was duped by Keith Raniere into believing he was an 'oddly quirky, socially awkward, gifted genius' when in fact he was a 'narcissistic sociopath'

Ivy Nevares, in an impact statement she shared online,
described herself as "a prisoner of Keith Raniere" with Salzman as her "prison warden" as she told how Salzman "nearly destroyed me."

'Your Honor, please see NXIVM's second in command through the voice of her victims, not the person she is pretending to be,' she said.

'Salzman has the capacity for empathy. However, she uses it to wield her victim's own empathy against them, playing them to her self-serving interests.

'She will undoubtedly attempt to do so with the Court today. Please: do not let her win.'

Has anyone figured out yet when Raniere began a relationship with Lauren Salzman, her age that is…
And whether or not that control also pertained to her sister, Michelle. You would think a mother and daughter would see having sex with the same man (although I’m sure a lot was hush hush) was manipulation. I do not see how they couldn’t know it was happening until it was too late.
I’m curious because of cases like the girls who were held captive and Gina Hutchinson, 13 or 14 years old sexual contact and if he met Nancy Salzman in the 80s than, she could also be one of these very underage girls groomed and influenced by him into adulthood.

Unsolved Mystery: Did sex-slaver guru, Raniere, murder pregnant woman?

Hardcore insiders believe he abducted her to keep the baby, and then either held her captive somewhere or disposed of her later, because no trace of her or the stolen kayak were ever found in Resurrection Bay to this day, and the note hasn’t been proven to even be her writing 100%

Sadly what he does is convince someone else into thinking that they are being helpful or that this is the right thing and then he gets them to do his dirty work. Takes credit but doesn’t actually get his hands dirty.

An FYI that ex-members Sarah Edmondson and Nippy Ames have had a broadcast for a couple years called A Little Bit Culty, where the talk about Nxivm and anything cult related, how to recognize you're in one and how to get out of them and recover. They talk to experts and cult survivors, and of course several from Nxivm. They've been discussing the second season of The Vow lately.

NXIVM loyalist Clare Bronfman denied in bid for lower sentence - Times Union

A federal judge in Brooklyn has rejected Seagram’s heiress Clare Bronfman’s request for a reduction of her nearly seven-year prison sentence for her crimes in Keith Raniere’s cult-like personal growth organization.

Bronfman, 45, formerly of Clifton Park, sought leniency from Senior U.S. District Judge Nicholas Garaufis, who in September 2020 sentenced the former NXIVM director of operations to six years and nine months in prison for her guilty pleas to conspiring to conceal and harbor undocumented immigrants for financial gain and identification fraud. A federal appeals court in Manhattan later upheld the convictions and sentence.
