Just reading the NY Times article about this.
They expect that the felony indictment will likely be announced "in the coming days". By then prosecutors will have asked DT to surrender and to face the charges (which are yet unknown).
The prosecution's star witness is Michael D Cohen.
The papers for the indictment were filed with the clerk's office just minutes before the office closed for the day, but it is unclear when the grand jury vote actually happened.
DT is the first former or current president to be indicted.

What will be hilarious is if he refuses to leave Mar a Lago and turn himself in and Desantis has to sign an order for him to be arrested and removed.

Interesting to see the indictment. He may have to seek sanctuary in FL..... Mar-A-Lago as a wholly (not holy) place for sanctuary.

Trump is the first serving or former US president to face charges.

He is also being investigated in several other cases.

Trump's attorney, Susan Necheles, confirmed the indictment to CBS News, the BBC's US partner.

He is expected to surrender to authorities next week, a source told the Associated Press news agency.

Trump - who lives in Florida - will be required to appear in New York City for his formal arrest and first hearing in court.

He faces the prospect of having his fingerprints recorded and his mugshot taken, like all defendants in criminal cases.

In response to the news of the indictment, NYPD officers have been issued a memorandum (at just after 5:30pm today) that tells them all to “remain prepared for mobilization at any time during their assigned tour.”

Had he not been running in the 2024 election there never would have been an indictment.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

This is a long time coming, running for re-election or not. With more to come!

DT's attorney has been contacted “to coordinate his surrender to the Manhattan D.A.’s Office for arraignment on a Supreme Court indictment, which remains under seal.” - according to a statement from the prosecutors office.
A date for the arraignment is yet unknown.

I agree that this would have come either way. The reset with Bragg was working to make it less about who was in office and more about the people (voters in NY--grand jury members) who are looking at evidence.

Shortly before 7 p.m., Judge Juan Merchan, who presided over the trial this year in which the Trump Organization was convicted of financial crimes, entered the Manhattan criminal courthouse. He will likely read through the paperwork of Thursday’s indictment of Donald Trump ......

Former President Trump is expected to turn himself in on Tuesday for arraignment on the indictment in State Supreme Court in Manhattan, according to one of his lawyers, Susan R. Necheles.
