BREAKING / NBC News: Ghislane Maxwell, long-time Jeffrey Epstein confidante and friend linked to his sexual trafficking has been arrested and will be hit with charges tied to the Epstein investigation, law enforcement officials say.

FBI arrested her at 8:30 this morning in Bradford, New Hampshire. Charges are sealed.

I guess it happens all the time-deals to convict the more serious offender, which absolve more minor offenders of any criminal consequences. Still, it both fascinates, and makes me feel angry that Ms Maxwell probably thought she had nothing to fear from the criminal justice system because of a agreement JE made.

I am just having a break from domestic business now, preparing for my family's arrival. Beds have been changed, bathrooms scrubbed, gifts chosen and wrapped. Soon, I will start cooking, and in a few hours head off to the airport to pick them up. I'm glad Ms Maxwell will spend Christmas alone in her cell, her Birthday too. She deserves no better. I really think she would be sweating the verdict, contemplating her last Christmas not as a felon. Such thoughts are giving me some comfort.

I have a holiday tradition in my house. Since I am the one who wraps everyone's presents, sometimes being duped into wrapping my own, I enjoy a glass (okay a bottle)of champagne while doing so. Ms Maxwell was seen giving her legal team long hugs before being escorted out of the Thurgood Marshall courthouse by a pair of US marshals on Wednesday evening.

The prison's Christmas Day menu includes beef meatloaf, gravy, mashed potatoes, tuna, potato chips, "whole fresh fruit" and vegetable juice. The jail does not appear to allow weekend visits, which will mean Ms Maxwell will spend the holiday alone.

Inmates are traditionally given socks and peanuts as Christmas presents, as well as a Turkey dinner cooked by fellow prisoners.

Her lawyers have protested at the “onerous” conditions in her 10ft by 12ft cell, where they say she is deprived of food and must contend with rats coming up through the sewer system.

Ms Maxwell’s older brother, Ian, believes her incarceration in virtual solitary confinement while having a flashlight shone into her tiny cell every 15 minutes at night by guards, has “weakened” her “physical and mental state”, and made it difficult for her to give evidence in her own defence.

Yeah, a big fat no one care's at this end too. The Christmas Day menu doesn't sound much chop. Hope she enjoys her socks and peanuts heaps. I'm not normally a nasty person, and it's Christmas in Australia, but the harm this woman has done, over such a long time, I cannot help myself wishing that the toilet does overflow into her cell today. It's not very festive of me, but there you are.

I once heard a jail cell referred to as the "room of truth", which lead me to recall the saying "no matter where you go...there you are".

Let's hope that Ms. M finds her stay at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn enlightening, and life changing. This is her shot at redemption, and spending the rest of her life in restitution. I hope she takes it.

For someone so utterly “traumatised” by prison conditions she is apparently being kept in, she was awfully chirpy and happy in court acting as if she didn’t have a care in the world, sketching the court sketch artist, hugging and laughing with her legal team, saying she doesn’t need to testify. Absolutely disgraceful. MOO

Perfectly demonstrating to the court why she did what she did - she thinks she is above the law.

If the government hasn't proved its case, she has certainly proved it for them.
