Watson's parents and sister spoke in court prior to Judge Anthony Aloi issuing his sentence. Watson's mother called Pieper "the scariest of killers," while her father talked about the intense pain the family has suffered.

    Watson family breaks their silence
"November 29th will forever be the worst day of my life," said Lauren Watson, Jenni-Lyn's sister.
Standing before a judge, a family at the center of a tragedy finally speaks out.
"That day when I found out my sister was gone forever. Life as I had known it was gone, as well. Who gave you that right to come into my house and steal my sister?" Lauren Watson asked.
With Steven Pieper standing just feet away, looking down, never in their direction, Jenni-Lyn Watson's family was telling a judge Pieper must pay for the co-ed's killing.

Investigator recounts Jenni Lyn Watson case
"I was brought into the case the day after she was reported missing," said Onondaga County Sheriff's Detective Keith Hall.
Hall has worked for a decade as a detective for the Onondaga County Sheriff's department. He was on call the weekend in November when Jenni-Lyn Watson was reported missing.
"Her purse was still at the residence. Her shoes were still at the residence. That just was not a normal thing," Hall said.
Investigators were told about a former boyfriend who had visited Jenni Lyn the morning of her disappearance: Steven Pieper.
