March 24, 2004 -- The boyfriend of a Queens mother of three was arrested yesterday for allegedly shooting her to death in the basement of her home, police said.
Kimberly Clark-Gardner, of 129-8 142nd St., was shot in the stomach early yesterday and pronounced dead at Jamaica Hospital at around 4 a.m., police said.
Relatives said they heard a shot in the basement, then watched as the boyfriend ran upstairs and fled through the rear door of the two-story building.
Lorenzo Thornton, 23, of Stuyvesant Avenue in Brooklyn, was charged with manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide and weapons possession, police said.
Sources said Clark-Gardner was killed with a single shotgun blast.
