Testimony by Robert Neulander’s friend backfires spectacularly for ex-doc in murder retrial

March 10, 2022

Syracuse, NY -- A Neulander family friend, Philip C. Miller, provided relatively mundane testimony in the former DeWitt doctor’s 2015 murder trial. He returned Thursday in defense of his friend at Neulander’s retrial.

But Miller’s testimony backfired spectacularly after District Attorney William Fitzpatrick got him to admit on cross-examination that he knew Leslie Neulander was leaving her husband.

Not finding much on what actually happened on the 9th - I believe there were more defense witnesses on that date. And all I could find for the 10th is the article I just posted.
Maybe someone can find that article that is broken down on who is the witnesses.

Looks like court won't be in session until Wed. March 16th - see last article I posted.

Can't access this article - if someone could give a 10% synopsis - it would be very much appreciated. So - guessing - since the defense rested - the jury is going to start deliberating - or closing arguments??

this is all I can read:

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Day 11 of the Robert Neulander Murder Trial came to an abrupt break late Monday morning after the defense rested ...

and this article doesn't give much either...

Robert Neulander's family displays continued support, children expected to testify

March 12, 2022
SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Robert Neulander’s support from his family is just as strong during the second trial as it was during the first trial in 2015 with the addition of young grandchildren in the courthouse this time around.

But, for the last two days, Jenna Neulander, Robert’s daughter, has not been seen in the courthouse.
[.....]
As the trial reaches its third week, it’s not clear when Jenna will testify; her brother Ari is expected to take the stand as well.

Wonder if his son testified also??

Ah - he did!

Robert Neulander's son testifies he never saw physical altercations between Leslie, Robert

March 15, 2022
SYRACUSE, N.Y. — As the second Neulander trial stretches into its third week the defense rested its case, without calling a key witness to the stand.
[.....]
On the eleventh day of the second trial, the defense began testimony with Neuropathology expert, Dr. Roland Auer who has a Ph.D. in brain damage.

Dr. Auer started by saying he disagreed with testimony by an expert called by Dr. Hua, an expert called by the prosecution who testified a piece of “mummified fat tissue,” belonging to Leslie was found on the couple’s headboard.
[.....]
Ultimately, Dr. Auer testified that he believes Leslie fell after slipping but did not pass out.

The defense team then called Ari Neulander, Robert and Leslie’s son, to the stand.
[.....]
Following his testimony, the defense rested its case.

The jury is instructed to return to court on Wednesday when closing arguments are expected to start.

Wonder why the defense didn't call his daughter Jenna to the stand. She was a "key" witness.... ??

Robert Neulander trial now in the hands of the jury - deliberations begin Thursday

Mar. 16, 2022

Wednesday marked the final day of legal arguments – with defense attorney Jonathan Bach taking 3 hours to complete his closing statement, contending that the prosecution had not presented sufficient evidence to conclude that Robert Neulander murdered his wife.

The DA countering – that the jury could conclude beyond a reasonable doubt that Robert is guilty on any one of seven different points, from the blood present in the bedroom to Jenna Neulander’s 911 call.

It was the last chance for both legal teams to sway jurors before deliberations – set to begin Thursday.

The final part of the afternoon, used by Judge Thomas Miller to provide detailed instructions to the 12 jurors and the 5 alternates on how to proceed, this case now entirely in their hands.

Can someone tell me if blood was found in the bathroom? Sorry, I don’t have time to scour the thread.

Thank you!

I've known the convicted for 30 years. I've see his temper. I've witnessed his rationalization of absurd behaviors and actions. He has always felt , due to his huge success as a doctor and enormous wealth that he was above everyone, and could do whatever he wanted. Leslie was divorcing him; her children were out of college and on their way to charmed lives due to her influence. The public persona of the doctor was created and enhanced by Leslie. That's why the general
public can't imagine how such a " nice guy" could have possibly done such an evil act to the very mother of his children and then duped on each of those very children as a cover up. No human could go lower. Many friendships post conviction have been destroyed by those of differing opinions. Friends for decades have been ostracized and thrown to the curb for believing the facts of this case versus the defenses baseless declarations.

It is my hope that this individual convict passes away quietly in prison and has the ultimate trial and sentencing by God.

The living survivors of this mess have no mercy, hopefully for him his God will.

What is your opinion on RL’s guilt today?
