"Men called Gilbert on a disposable cellphone, sources familiar with the probe said. But she often talked to Pak on her personal cellphone, for which Newsday obtained records."

So she had two cell phones that night. (?) Obviously her personal one is the one we've seen the records for. But did she take the disposable one into JB's house with her too? Could she have gotten a call for another date on it?

I wonder if cph or mrs. cph were verifiably home together anywhere near the time that Shannan disappeared. This whole case is baffling.....just baffling.

Have detectives found and spoken to other girls who are involved with this driver?

Have they ever talked to any of his former girlfriends?

why was someone on a hospital blog about internal affairs and Mr Hyde's father's tenure at the hospital, convinced that Mr Hyde was sitting in jail charged with serial killings?

what did police do about Shannan, after they questioned the neighbors?

I would love to see the ad Shannan posted that night. I'd like to know if there was any ambiguity that she was a call girl, advertising her services (i.e. "Fun girl seeks generous companion).

One of the newspapers tracked her path with a map. Will try to find it. The footprints were seen by the lady and her son that live on Anchor Way. SG came to their house after GC encounter and they also called 911, but SG ran away.

Merci Beacoup Redbird as now this important piece of the puzzle is filled in ~ the last person we know who saw Shannan except for the one who grabbed her.

Location, location, placing Shannan close to Lamboard Ct and in the neighborhood of the infamous Mr Hyde. He told her Mother he saw her and she spent the night in his home/treatment center. What irony, eh? He denies that but why would she lie about it ??? He might have a big reason to deny having anything to do with Shannan. eh?

In many articles we have read she knew this person who she said was going to kill her. I think her Mother said that. It is one point we haven't discussed.

LE spoke with him several times and then took him out of the public eye as far as being a suspect, right? That means nothing to me. What better way to calm him down and watch him from afar, waiting for him to make some mistake or give time to find Shannan's body.

In the back of my mind I still think he could be the 'drifter', that title used by JB to direct eyes away from Mr Hyde. If they partied together from time to time with the big city girls, maybe JB didn't want that to come out for some reason. All I can say is it might reflect on Mr Hyde, as his reputation surely proceeds him. IMO

Where would he dispose of her? Is there an area close to his house that is wild where he could bury her? I think they should take their best Human Recovery Dogs out there and search thoroughly.

One thing I learned last night here reading is that Mr Pax was Shannan's regular driver. She called him to pick her up in Manhattan. No one sent a driver to pick her up.

Also, I think JB knows more than he is saying. I don't think he participated in her disappearance but probably put 2 + 2 together right away when he heard she was missing. If he and Mr Hyde were party buddies he'd have seen him in action.

Whatever freaked her out happened in JB's house that night. She placed the 911 call from inside his house. And I think Shannan had been there before because it is said she knew him. IMO

I agree about this awesome group. I was so happy to find this web site. People here are thoughtful, intelligent and respectful.

Thinking about how exhausted Shannan must have been really helps put me into her shoes. 5 in the morning, working all night, maybe intoxicated and probably terrified. I have so much sympathy for her and her family.

I was also thinking about how LE didn't really run with this until the bodies were found. It really is sad. For instance, Melissa's family telling the cops they were receiving those phone calls and were pretty much ignored. These girls' families must be so terribly upset.

Here's another case where the victim's cell phone was used to taunt; also includes dismemberment, head in a garbage bag and cutting of tattoo...they made an arrest - he says he didn't do it. I'm struck by the many, many similarities.

Because she was pulled into a car. Her Mother said they could hear her saying something like 'Leave me alone. Get away from me".

And from there, who knows where he took her. If it was a SK with the profile they have put out, they believe he was a sexual sadist {acc to Pat Brown} and so he probably took her somewhere to use and torture till he killed her.

If it was not the SK, I think if she rebuffed him he probably struck out in anger at her, either hurting her badly or killing her.

I don't necessarily think Mr Hyde is the SK but could be responsible for what happened to her. Don't know yet. IMO

Can any locals offer us any insight into Captree Boatmans Assoc.? From the website, I gather they do commercial fishing and boat tours, but do they also rent slips (or whatever they're called) to private boat owners? What is the area like around there? Where do the men who work on the commercial fishing boats live? Are they local or out of towners? I'll take any and all information anyone has to offer. TIA

The associatoin is a grouop of captains who keep their fishing boats at Captree State Park boat basin. They formed the association to make it easy to do joint advertising. Most of the boats are party boats (boats open to the public without reservations for recreational fishing). Some of the boats are charter boats for hire.

The association does not own any land or any boat slips. The slips are leased to them by NYS Parks Dept. They are located in Captree state park (a mile east of oak beach). Most of the captains and mates live close by in Suffolk county. At least one lives inside Oak Beach Association. Usually these are family run operations. I mentioned in an earlier post that burlap bags are often sold on the paartyboats for the fares to hold the fish they caught if buckets or coolers are not available. Burlap bags are also used to transport green crabs and skimmer clams (popular baits) to the captree boats by the bait suppliers. There is also a bait and tackle shop inside captree park that buys the crabs and clams in burlap too!

The statement that her footprints were seen bothers me.

I am very curious where exactly they claim her footprints could be viewed.
Most beach sand in NY would consist of thousands of footprints except along the waterline during falling tide or along the windswept dunes where nobody would usually walk.

Actually, I think they mean that men called her using their own disposable cellphone...I don't think they meant that her personal cell was disposable. I could be wrong, but that was my take when I read that. Hope this helps!

Could be Related to the Manroville killings as the time frame was before his arrest. He lived in Central Islip and that seems fairly close to Manorville. But if that is the case then he was arrested by the time the GB4, in burlap, were discovered 10 months later, in December. Of course, if there was a team approach to the majority of these killings then someone else could have continued where he left off.

Maybe she was also calling 911 on her other phone, since the phone records we have seen only shows 1 call to 911.

She visited NY/LI frequently in 2009 and 2010. Her killer MUST have been a regular client of hers, JMO.

Also, "She left the hotel alone around 1:30 a.m., on foot." and "..he (Akeem Cruz) had talked to her by cell phone around 1:30 a.m. the morning of June 6."
She must have told him where she was going. He spoke to her.

And wth did or didn't they find on his laptop??

All of these women sound like they didn't take any crap from anyone! They sound like they would put up a fight if they were in danger.

This could be how the killer knew her little sister's number, and what MB wrote to her, it was probably obvious that it was her little sister. MOO

This cell phone was found in the possession of a convicted felon who told them that he had snatched it during a scuffle between two prostitutes and a pimp. But the second phone was a dead end. Showing Barthelemy's picture at Manhattan and Long Island motels didn't yield any leads either."

"Between December 2007 and March 2010 she was married to Donald Costello. The address they used in High Point, Fla., matches an address listed in Private Playmates Escort Referrals. Previously, Michael Wilhelm of Kannapolis, N.C., had been married to her for a few years. They'd met in Wilmington, but he says he had left her because of her heroin use."

I'm a new poster today. Living in Babylon Village, NY I am extremely interested in this investigation. I went to school with Anna Brewer (JB's) sister. She's on my FB. I get chills regarding him. It is impossible for me to believe he's not somehow involved, or knows something. The sister belongs to some Witch psychic group as well. All too strange for me.

I'm operating on the assumption that LE is right when they say there are more than one killer...and this one would be related to manorville IMO.

If, (that's a big "if" to me), there ARE two SKs, then I see the Gilgo bodies IN BURLAP to be the work of the second SK. Did that make sense?>

Personally, I can see it being the same SK - and he just found it easier to carry "bodies" or "parts" in burlap, rather than plastic garbage bags...they would break open, right?
