A man found a decomposed body in his dead mother’s freezer as he was clearing out her Manhattan apartment, police said.

Wow. I can’t imagine finding out something so sinister about my own mother after her death. I wonder what the son has to say about his mom... if she was the same sweet old lady the superintendent knew.

Big cities have many smells. People cook. (In my building there are maybe a half dozen kinds of smells from that; and they intermingle.) There also is a Taco Bell and a KFC downstairs next to her building, and probably more on the block. And a good freezer is air tight, or almost. (But yes, I wonder too!)
