IMO this is a very dangerous attitude and sadly one I've seen before. It's the same attitude IMO as the many people that couldn't care less there's a serial killer preying on prostitutes on Long Island and another in Atlantic City.
People are people and when one says NO it means NO just the same as it does if a nun said NO.
It's the same as blaming a woman when she's raped because of the clothes she wore.
No one deserves to be a victim.

Yes, like I said, IMO this woman is lucky to be alive. I understand that she went there willingly to participate in a slave/master type consensual relationship. But the moment she wanted that relationship to end and they chained her outside and then in the shed, she was a victim of a crime, which made her captors criminals and I do not lose sight of that fact.

i think a lot of sick people are using BDSM as an excuse to play up their awful fantasies
BDSM has rules: must involve consenting adults, a contract where the slave states what he/she would or wouldn't do is drawn, safe words and boundaries are established ( eg: red for stop), how to addresses the master or mistress, etc
i hope this woman gets the help she needs, deciding to change genders has a big psychological impact and to top that up she falls into the hands of these people...

A rural Louisiana couple accused of branding a Twin Cities woman with a bar code and keeping her as a sex slave believe their relationship with her was normal and can’t understand why they’re in trouble.
“They see no remorse … and they believe we don’t understand them. They are very comfortable and confident that they are doing the right thing,” said Greg Dunn, chief investigator for the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Dunn said Rodriguez branded the woman with a bar code tattoo on the back of her neck to stake the couple’s claim to the victim as property.

Rogers even “liked” many computer-generated “Bitstrip” cartoons on the woman’s Facebook page that portray violent submissiveness being acted out with the victim as one of the characters. One suggested the woman was living under the devil’s control. However, Rogers continued, she didn’t find those cartoons alarming at the time.

I agree but,-many people get into relationships and the relationship gets ugly. This person willingly entered this relationship, luckly they had no children that they had to escape with,- but there were juveniles on property. The story is only of more interest because it involves s&m, transgender and of course sex.
But i don't see that it makes it any different than any other unlucky domestic relationship choice.
Battered woman(person) used to be a defence but now i see many women or person end up in jail for their sad choice in house mate, but they are to fearful, or can't find a truck to steal, so that they can escape. When does it become kidnapping?

many people stay in relationships because of fear, or finances have been taken, threats of violence. There are safe houses, restraining orders, but if it can now be called kidnapping, i'm good with that. The police are often called when a person is in the process of trying to leave.
BBM. Exactly! And, with a logging chain connected to a bucket around her neck, she was definitely held against her will, imo. Thank goodness she was able to escape. I hope she is healing and getting the help she needs.

S&M agreements include the ability to say 'uncle' at any stage, clearly this woman was kept against her will so at that stage the couple took advantage of the situation and held her against her will. S&M isn't carte blanche for someone to do whatever they like to you for as long as they see fit, starve you, and hold you against your will. It's a role playing sex game, with rules and mutual respect. Not everyone's cup of tea, but consensual.
