OH OH - Megan Lancaster, 25, Scioto Co, 3 Apr 2013

It has been almost 5 years since Megan Lancaster went missing. The family still rallies for support in finding her.

On August 22, 2017, a woman was found dead near where Lancaster's car was found in 2013. - http://www.portsmouth-dailytimes.com/news/18785/controversy-of-dead-prostitute - This woman also was involved in drugs and prostitution. It speaks volumes to the goings on in that area.

I find the most interesting aspect in this case to be the fact that Megan left behind a "little black book," which was really just pages and pages of numbers and so forth. I found the photos of the actual pages on the Finding Megan Lancaster 2013 FB page. It is speculated that the phone numbers of prominent officials can be found there.

She didn't disappear into thin air. More than one individual knows where she can be found. Just one tip could make all the difference for Megan's family.

Megan was drug addicted and turned to prostitution, but that doesn't make her any less important to find.

Megan Lancaster's car was found abandoned on April 3, 2013, in the parking lot of a Portsmouth, Ohio fast food restaurant. Megan, 25 at the time, had disappeared. Family members said the young mother of one son had fallen into a life of addiction before she vanished. Many have said Lancaster's case is eerily similar to the cases of several other missing women in surrounding counties over the past several years.

“A prominent attorney in Portsmouth has been arrested by agents.

It happened Wednesday morning in Scioto County just after 8 a.m.

Michael Mearan was seen being placed into handcuffs by agents in vests while crime lab trucks were his home and business on Sixth Street.

Mearan, 74, is a one-time city councilman.

BCI agents were seen duplicating electronic devices for evidence collection.

The affidavit by a federal agent linked the lawyer to 27 women who worked for him as prostitutes, including one woman who has been missing since 2013 and another found dead.

In October 2020, Portsmouth city council member and attorney Michael Mearan was arrested on a total of 18 charges including human trafficking, racketeering and compelling and promoting prostitution. According to the Finding Megan Lancaster Facebook page, Megan’s family believes Mearan is involved in her disappearance. However, no suspects or persons of interest have been named in her case. If you have any information about Megan's disappearance, please contact the Portsmouth Police Department at (740) 353-4101.

The Ohio Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Portsmouth Police Department released an age-progression image of a woman who has been missing for over eight years and are asking for the public’s assistance with the case.

[...]

Lancaster was 25 years old when she went missing and would now be 33. BCI’s forensic artist created an age-progressed image of what she may look like now.

Noting:
  • This development comes amid the prosecution of attorney, Michael Mearan who was indicted last fall on 18 charges spanning human trafficking, racketeering and compelling and promoting prostitution.
  • The indictment says Mearan engaged in sex trafficking from 2003-2018, with six victims being involved.
  • Mearan has pleaded not guilty, is suspended from practicing law and was ordered to house arrest in March after a judge ruled he violated the conditions of his bond by taking on new clients, Scioto County court records show.
  • A visiting judge recently modified the conditions of Mearan’s arrest to allow him to take walks within a half of a mile of his home.
  • KL has long suspected Mearan knows something about Megan’s disappearance.
  • KL said she has found names and phone numbers kept by her missing sister-in-law in color-coded notebooks.
  • The entries included notations such as “dance for” and “men who give money,” and included Mearan’s name and number, according to copies shared KL shared last year with FOX19 NOW.
  • One page lists Mearan’s name and phone number next to “$80.”
  • At the time of her disappearance, Megan was using drugs and prostituting, KL has said.
