I don't understand the significance of submitting DNA of one of the victims, it's not disputed that the victim was present. Unless maybe there's defendant DNA to be presented next?
This is what I am wondering. The way it was presented as mixture of DNA.. then the stipulation with the "facts they agreed on" was it was Gary Rhoden's DNA.. makes me wonder if the mixture has someone else DNA also and the defense isn't agreeing to it being Georges, but a DNA expert could testify to the likelihood of it being Georges mixed with Gary's?? Just a thought I had.

The point is to show where the victim was located at a given point in time. In this case, its where the victim was standing or lying when he bled onto a surface. They're going to put all the data together and show a reconstruction of where everyone stood, walked, fell, etc. before and after they were killed. It will also show where the killers were standing, moving to, etc. at the same time. They'll also be able to review ballistics and show how far away the killer was, if they were standing, kneeling, etc in relation to the victims. Maybe how tall they were, etc.

I believe this process of demonstrating collection of evidence, and then the following stipulations that it belonged to Gary has more than one purpose.
MO
To show the careful examination of the crime scene and collection process
Stipulations that DNA belongs to Gary are accurate and may have a purpose in the “ trail of blood “ to be introduced in future. Who had GR blood on them, their shoes.
Stipulations are exculpatory (? Brady evidence?) evidence, showing all evidence carefully processed and reported regardless of result
Truth in identifying GR dna will show there should be truth in future DNA that belongs to a W
Just my speculation

Crossing my fingers that the state didn't skimp on budget and processed everything, especially for DNA.

A lot of BCI photo evidence of crime scenes is being shown to jury. We are unable to see most of it.
According to this BCI witness Henshaw:
ETA. We are now seeing bullet holes to door.
ETA. A total of six bullet holes to this area of door.
ETA. They used trajectory rods through the bullet holes to investigate them.

So I called the court and they weren't sure if a regular person could buy a transcript. She said she would let me know. We need to read what Angela and Jake say when the trial is over. Anyone else have thoughts on this?. So many people are opting out of being recorded I feel a transcript is the only way to get all the facts.

At this point, I feel like the only thing we can do is trust the prosecutors and DeWine. They've got this.

According to the "local rules of procedure" posted at the Pike County Court site, the court does NOT employ a court reporter or stenographer (pursuant to R.C. Section 1901.33) but instead records court proceedings using digital recording equipment, and the Court will retain the recording for one year following the disposition of the case. Relative to "transcripts," it seems the cost for a transcript will be determined by the independent contractor. Unfortunately, Section 3 - Record of the Proceedings - Copies (bottom of pg 4) is cut off.

Appears the majority of the assault was at the front door.

Edit... The camera work is terrible. We can't see half of what they're talking about. Either the camera doesn't pan at all or pans very late.

Witness looks at a picture, says "...we can see..." No we can't, sorry.

According to this BCI witness Agent Henshaw:

The bullet holes were in screen door. None on inside door. Witness states he believes Inside door was in open position otherwise the bullet holes that went through the screen door would also have gone through inside door as well.

I hope someone is still transcribing. I just jumped in with bullet hole to door testimony for whoever earlier was asking about this.

Also mentioned one bullet hole that would be formed when the door was closed, while talking about the trajectory.

Those bullets began to expand and deform passing through the wood or metal, making them larger and jagged. Those .40 cal. may have doubled in size, but I'm beginning to think I'm better off working with videos I can pause, versus watching live.

And I just lost the feed. I thought fiber optic was supposed to be tiptop?

(For folks on Twitter, Evan Millward from WCPO has been posting the BCI Agents bullet hole testimony)

Who controls the panning of camera?

Defense attorney must have a date. He is always animated when he checks the time

Intern from local college?

If the camera would at least go to the monitor when someone is pointing, instead of going to the whiteboard diagram.

Many fragments, shrapnel, and bullet jackets.

Agent Hanshaw Direct continue

(will forgo writing all numbers, will just focus on Agent Hanshaw number placards that he used to denote items he photographed and collected)

item 14 collected bullet partial jacket from porch area shown to jury
item 15 collected, photographed a bullet in the laminate stack partial copper jacket, shown to jury (porch railing area)
broken glass photographed on porch area, front door examined, multiple suspected bullet holes in door, to the left on door hole, pointed to diagram where bullet strikes were, item 14 was found in this area,
up to 6 bullet holes in and around door testified to so far, used rods to look for trajectory, and scales to measure size, to try to do reconstruction later on,
front door photo with bullet holes and rods inserted plus placards to show holes (outer front door, screen door)
interior front door open when ballistic event occurred,
door jamb near to light switch inside wood blown out, marked holes, try to match interior holes to exterior holes, some of the holes from exterior door matched bullet holes inside, 3 holes matched up
close up of one of bullet holes, bullets fired from outside to inside
no holes had projectiles in
blind swab done eg on door handles for touch DNA (can't see anything on handle so do swabs to check if any DNA their) if wore gloves no DNA
!6 blind swabs evidence bag shown to jury, off door (screen door I think)
STIPULATION blind swab storm door 16 mixture of DNA GR major contributor, none of Wagers DNA present
17 Blind swab of interior door evidence bag shown to jury
went into living room, documented it as found, staged everything on front porch, tools etc staged outside, 3D scan had been done, had tybex sp suit on
photographed scene - looked for ballistic evidence, multiple projectiles and fragments in living area,
26 jacket of bullet, from wall, in living room,
25 small projectile, knife also in photo, projectile found near vent in the floor in living room.
Hope somebody has screen shot the ballistic diagram we can see
from ballistic diagram if all green dots reflect a bullet or jacket or fragment then there were many bullets found in living room near the chair in the living room
buffered so missed some testimony
40 partial projectile in speaker collected projectile
41 small speaker on top of larger speaker bullet hole in it collected speaker, lab dug bullet out of speaker
38 little silver bullet collected it
tried to mark trajectory
lunch

Is it possible camera movement is somewhat restricted so camera won't accidentally film something it shouldn't

So far, how many bullets were fired?
And, will we find out what gun fired each bullet?

  • #780
For some reason the number 32 seems right IIRC. Probably
