George Wagner is accused of killing a family of 8 living on a pot farm in Pike County OH. While first thought to be drug related the killings now could be the result of a custody battle. 3 other members of the Wagner family have been arrested as well. So many twists and turns and Websleuths members are on top of every single thing that happens in the shocking case.

The gruesome slayings have rattled this southeast corner of Appalachian Ohio, a region that culturally identifies more closely with neighboring Kentucky and West Virginia than the state’s northern cities.

Adding to the shock was the discovery of hundreds of illegal marijuana plants on Rhoden’s property, highlighting the region’s dependency on the illegal drug trade as jobs in agriculture and timber have dried up.

Minors: You may discuss what is covered in the main stream media regarding the custody of minor children. If posting snips from articles regarding the children please redact their names. These babes are innocents. One day they will google their names or those of their parents. And plenty will come up. Let's be respectful of them and the catastrophic loss they have suffered at such tender ages. Thanks.

The number of off topic posts in this thread is unacceptable.

This thread is about the Rhoden family murders. Do not make the thread about yourself and do not discuss other members. If there is a concern about a post, use the Report feature to let WS staff know about it and do not discuss it on the board.

Please do not bring social media hoopla and drama from other boards/sites into discussion at Websleuths. It can only serve to bring WS down to the same level ... which we are not.

Do not respond to posts that are obviously off topic. It only makes the job of cleaning up the thread so much harder. We appreciate when you Report TOS violations quickly so we can catch things before they get out of hand.

WS staff do not and cannot sit in each and every WS thread to read what is going on in real time. So, posts like "mods please delete if not allowed" are usually NOT seen by a Mod unless someone Reports them. If you think something might not be allowed, please ASK first so WS staff don't have to clean up all the mess that follows if it is not allowed.

As always, your co-operation is appreciated.

If you are referring to a possible wife during the time the W4 were in Alaska, I believe several threads ago we were told by a moderator to not discuss this person. I believe the moderator said (paraphrasing) that this person is not involved in the Rhoden/Gilley case and should not be discussed at all. Anyone else remember that?

Yes. I saw that the video was taken down at least twice (but does keep popping back up again) because the fake has no proof for her claims. She even asked on the video: "Hannah GILLEY was Sophia's mom, right?" Other claims she made were very obviously inaccurate, but out of respect to the moderators I will not mention it again on the Websleuth Threads. Thankx for Websleuths.

Just thinking a lot about Hannah Gilley today. Birthday were so special to her. My thoughts are
that the Wagners are about to face their greatest fear, which is themselves. JMO, but reality has
not set in yet. Still demanding special treatment, and not having any empathy, compassion or a
conscience for their sins. They do not appear to be human, only soulless, entitled creations.

All the lies and manipulating will be in vain. The court, LE and society are about to become soldiers
and allow all to be the wickedness and evil. Again, just my opinion.

Yes, what they did was so diabolical when you stop to think about it. Planning in detail and executing 8 innocent people while they slept in their beds, with infants and toddlers nearby. People who had done no harm to them other than to contest custody of their daughter's/cousin's child.

These murders were the stuff of nightmares. The public must remind themselves of that every time they look into the faces of the Wagners and the grandmothers. A horrific bloodbath over a trivial thing, something that terrorized a community for years.

When the trials begin and the prosecution takes the jurors through the Rhoden homes, I'm not sure I can watch it. It must have been a horrific scene to behold x 4.

I couldn't agree with you more...so sad. I see pictures of the Rhodens and HG, and they look so happy and full of life. I often have to remind myself that these 8 people are no longer living. It's such a surreal feeling to me, and I am just an outsider looking in. I can't imagine what it is like for those who were so close to the victims--especially BJM and JM or anyone else who saw the crime scenes, including LE. I'm sure those images will haunt them the rest of their lives.

I truly hope to the depths of my soul that the W4 will work out plea agreements, which would spare the loved ones of the Rhodens and HG having to withstand the horror of seeing crime scene photos and hearing the intimate details of the murders. They've been through so very much already. Thinking of them having to go through it all again honestly brings tears to my eyes. I hope that those left behind to endure this living nightmare will some day find peace.

  20. In my opinion anything less than the death penalty for all guilty is an insult to the Rhodens/Gilley memory as well as an insult to the surviving family members who have to wake up each day and be reminded by the fact that their loved ones are gone and never coming back. An insult to those poor children robbed of a normal life. Again just my opinion however unpopular it may be.
