[h=1]Human remains found in field near Tulsa International Airport[/h]
Human remains were discovered Saturday afternoon in a field on Tulsa International Airport property.

People were dumping tree limbs about 1:15 p.m. in a field west of Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology, near 89th East Avenue and Pine Street, when they saw a human skull, according to Tulsa police homicide Sgt. Dave Walker.

A rib cage and spine were found near the skull, Walker said.

When police arrived, more bones were found near a clump of trees, which likely is where the body was originally, Walker said.
Police believe the body has been there about four to five months. All the bones were skeletal, but some hair was still present.
A pair of shoes that appeared to be men's shoes were found, Walker said.

Well, good to hear Dave Walker is working on this one; anyone who watches the First 48 knows the job he does.

We do have a 32 y.o. male missing since August 25th from Tulsa, Joshua Shields.

He was last seen at the White Crow Tavern, 7103 E Pine. The above article states the skeletal remains were found at 89th E and Pine. That's only one mile away.

TULSA, Oklahoma - Police confirm they found remains believed to be from a missing person.
Homicide detectives are working to identify the human bones that were found near Pine Street and North 89th East Avenue.

Detectives said they have not been able to identify the bones, including the gender.

Police said the medical examiner and an anthropologist are working to process the evidence.

"It's been here not years, but it's been here long enough to decompose. About 3 or 4 months," said Tulsa Police Sergeant Dave Walker.

Right now, there are more questions than answers.
It's unclear who this person was, exactly when they died, or what caused their death.

Investigators returned Sunday to search the area again with more daylight. There, they found more bones, hair, nails and teeth.

They believe the remains belonged to an adult.
Homicide detectives believe the remains may belong to a man who went missing in the area in early August. They say they believe they belong to a man in his late twenties or early thirties.

Evidence will be used to confirm the identification of the remains through dental and medical records.

Searching at times on hand and knee, Tulsa Police were back in north Tulsa Sunday morning looking for more clues after human bones were found in a field.

"We're finding more remains in a rat nest," said Sergeant Dave Walker.

Police found other remains during this second search, including some leg bones, teeth and fingernails.
While they have more evidence, police are not investigating this as a homicide yet.

"Right now we're just treating it as a found body," said Walker. "We need more information."
He says it could be weeks to months before we find out who this person is, but there might be a lead to check out.
"We have made contact with one person who reported her son missing around the end of August that was in this area," said Walker. "There's no way of telling if this is going to be him, but it is a lead we will have to follow up on."

More remains in a rat nest?

*shudders

Hopefully there aren’t multiple people’s remains out there.

Thanks for posting these story updates, Gardener.

Not finding anything new. They may be waiting on DNA results.

This case is not entered in Namus, from what I can find. Hopefully they're onto something and it never needs to be.

Joshua Paul Shields is a rule out on this case. The current list of rule outs as of 10/20/2018 for this UID are:

Thank you, somehow I did not see that info:oops:o_O
