http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2448832/Missing-Tommy-Eastep-Family-search-son-disappeared-Fourth-July.html

The last time anyone heard from 30-year-old Tommy Eastep was on July 7, when he was spending the Independence Day weekend on Lake Eufaula in Oklahoma. But Tommy never returned home to Blanchard, Oklahoma and his family has been looking for him ever since.

Late last month, a break in the case came with the discovery of Tommy's silver 4X4 Chevy pick-up truck north of Holdenville, Oklahoma. Tommy's debit card and driver's license were inside the locked truck, as well as $70 on the console.

I noticed that NamUs lists Tommy's height at 60", which is an error. According to the flier put out by his family, he is 6'1" tall. He weighs about 170 pounds and has light brown hair and hazel eyes. Last seen wearing a white t-shirt, jeans, and sandals.

I was looking for more details on Tommy's disappearance and came across a post by a friend of his older brother's, giving a timeline of events:

If the information in this post is correct, then Tommy was actually in Holdenville on July 6 or 7 where his truck was later found (and not carjacked or something in Eufaula).

It also appears that his truck was actually found by a hunter within a week after Tommy vanished and this was reported to the sheriff's office, but there was no follow-up and the truck sat there almost three more months before being found by another hunter. And then it was a game warden and not the sheriff's office who finally went and checked it out.

Oklahoma LE at its finest. :banghead:

According to the FB page there was a ground search on Saturday, though no new leads in finding Tommy.

He's a good looking fella. I hope he's found soon.

A lot of Oklahoma cases seem to be swept under the rug too quickly. There is a lack of publicity and a lack of continuous search efforts. These missing people and their families deserve more. MOO
I Hope they find him soon!

[modsnip] I would hope someone has been able to reach out to his friends, acquaintances, etc to ask for info. [modsnip]. Jmo

Hope they get a break soon and they find him.

Hughs county ,Holdenville PD, Macintosh county , Grady city and McClain county should all have some varied degree of interest in Tommys case .

Does the OSBI take over all missing person cases?

Some maps to give a sense of the area where Tommy went missing.

He was thought to be headed home from Eufaula (A) to Blanchard (B), a 145-mile trip if he headed down I-40:

Or he might have driven down the more meandering Highway 9, if he was in no particular hurry or if he had reason to visit one of the small towns or communities along the way. Taking this route may explain how Tommy turned up in Holdenville (B), as evidence seems to indicate he did, and he may have been headed north from there to I-40 when he went missing. His truck was found just south of (E):

The yellow bullseye marks the location where his truck was found:

Zooming in, there's a lake to the east, lots of smaller ponds all around, a large heavily-wooded area to the south and west, and Little Wewoka Creek along the southern edge of the woods:

A better view of the lake, with the blue arrow pointing to the truck's location. I'm assuming this lake (actually, a reservoir) is where the dive search took place last week:

So whatever happened to Tommy, whether it was by his own hand or someone else's, he could be anywhere in this area, or he might be somewhere else entirely. But, if he is here, you can see why it's so difficult to find him.

Tommy Raymond Eastep, 30, of Blanchard, was last seen July 7 at the Best Western Hotel in Eufaula, according to Gary Parkinson OSBI public information officer. Parkinson said investigators are concerned because although Eastep was last seen in July in Eufaula, his 2003 Silver Chevy 4X4 pickup was found in Sept. 29. north of Holdenville. “We are concerned because his truck was found in a completely different location than where he was last seen,” Parkinson said on Tuesday. Eastep’s truck was recovered in rural Hughes County, near the intersection of State Highway 48 and State Highway 9. - See more at: http://www.mcalesternews.com/police...or-missing-Blanchard-man#sthash.xSTBArKS.dpuf

So is this correct info for his last seen ,I thought he was placed after leaving the best western and he was last seen in another place. Was that just a rumor?

Well, the fellow at the Texas Bowhunter forum claims to be Tommy's older brother's best friend, and he says Tommy tried to get help for dehydration at a hospital possibly in Holdenville on July 6 or 7. Also tried to get a room at a local hotel, maybe or maybe not with a female in a blue car with out-of-state plates.

Possibly this was early info that has not been proven? It was posted just over a week after the truck was found (for the second time), and I haven't seen anything more about Tommy himself being seen in the vicinity of Holdenville.

The above (NamUs) says he was supposed to meet his family at the lake but never showed. The texasbowhunter.com post says that he was at the family function on the 4th, but was asked to leave. If he was at the lake, who was he in contact with? Something isn't adding up.

Oh, great, I see NamUs still has Tommy listed as being five feet tall. I really don't know what the story is. Such a frustrating lack of information. I'm not sure if LE and the family are being tight-lipped about further details or if they just don't know much more than we do.

“Right now we are looking for any information telling us about where he might have been or who he might have been with,” Perkinson said.

<snip>

“I’d love to have him back,” Eastep’s father told RDR. “I go down there every weekend looking for him.”
Tommy's own FB page is here:

He had just joined a few weeks before he went missing and was pretty active. Interesting peek at the life he was living, a little more upscale than you might expect [modsnip].

[modsnip] If the SO had followed up then, they would have known where to be looking for him only five days after he went missing instead of three months later.
