When Overstreet asked if Jacobs had ever asked how Dan Brophy died, she replied that she did and that Crampton Brophy told her he was shot twice in the heart. She said Crampton Brophy fully stretched out her arms and said, "it was about this far."
Jacobs told the prosecutor that Crampton Brophy initially started to say "I" instead of "it," but that she appeared to have misspoken and corrected herself.

Jacobs said she did not willingly choose to be involved in the trial, and that she was brought from Texas to Oregon only based on the information she provided detectives.
She said that she has received threats from fellow inmates since she was set to testify in the trial.

This was an entire morning of evil. The prosecutor pretends he's Joe Average. He spent yesterday mumbling, hemming, and hawing. He's used this technique with every defense witness. You'd think he was incompetent, and then he comes out with STUFF....

The lead prosecutor and defense attorneys crossed swords several times Monday as they tried to persuade a jury to see their side in the final days of romance writer Nancy Crampton Brophy’s murder trial in the killing of her husband, Oregon Culinary Institute instructor Daniel Brophy.
