Oh no! Suspect had an AR-15 so unfortunately this poor K9 didn't stand a chance. Such a shame he wasn't fitted with a vest. Although against that weapon it may not have helped him much.

I remember a while back reading about someone kicking a K9 officer and getting a federal charge over it. I'm not sure when the law went into effect, or if it's only certain states/counties, but it is supposed to be a federal offense now to harm a K9.

RIP little fella!

Shouldn't the dog had been trained to stay there and not run away?

I believe I read somewhere that it is instinctive for an animal who knows they are dying to hide. It was a long time ago that I read the article but it might be their way to get away from a predator. So sad.

How awful!! :banghead:
Thank God that they caught the bad guy so that way he can be punished.

Praying for the officer. I know that if it were my dog, I'd be brokenhearted. :tantrum:
