LinasK will be joining me along with a person who is close to the case named Lisa.

I spoke with Mark's father Ken and he was just not up to appearing on the show. It's too much and too painful and I'm sure we can all totally understand.

Don't forget it's tomorrow Tuesday Nov 12 at 4 PM Eastern.

Devastating case!

There's contradiction in the accounts at Doe Network and Charlie Project, or at least they each talk about different details related to the case. Charlie Project suspects Mark was killed in his home between July 2nd to the 6th, but also says he was last seen on July 3rd. If he was last seen July 3rd, it would not be possible for him to have met with foul play on July 2nd. Here is info on that:

Here is Doe Network's account at this time:

Bumping dear! Justice for those kind, gentle eyes!

Just reading up on this case. How tragic.

I get a very strong sense that this was a crime of passion. Mark knew his attacker; invited him into his home. The "personal emergency" was definitely connected to this person. Maybe this person was abusive to Mark and he wanted to break it off OR this person was in the closet (possibly married etc...) and went into a rage when Mark threatened to "out" him if the relationship was being ended. I also feel strongly that this was the attackers only violent crime--he lucked out extremely in being able to pull it off and not be caught and has probably moved on with his life with very little thought of what he got away with. It is also troubling that the Mark's body has never been found, though based on what I have read on the case, I wonder how much effort was even put into locating initially. I think the location of where his truck was found is in direct correlation to where his body was more than likely dumped.

BUT, I cannot believe that there is NOBODY out there that doesn't know who this mystery person is. Surely Mark would have mentioned the guy to a friend or have been seen with him at the bar. Was anyone at the bar ever questioned? Were Mark's friends and co-workers ever questioned?

Hopefully justice is served and Mark's attacker is caught so his family can finally have some closure.

Hi LinasK, I wrote in the blogtalkradio chat that I was going to be making a FaceBook page. Do you have a link to a missing persons poster/flier for your cousin so I can put it up as the profile picture? If not, I can just use the picture you have in your avatar or make a poster myself

My avatar picture is from the Doe Network link: http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/3847dmor.html
I don't think I have the copy of the printed flyer any longer, but I think NaMus is using the same picture of him. Thank-you for doing this!

bumping up this info.

I went back through the links Tulessa had posted, and found some tidbits that I think are new, at least to me:
1) Mark lived alone.
2) Investigators went to his residence and discovered numerous items were missing from the house.
3) In 2001, a $25,000 reward was offered by the Dribin family, and another $5,000 was contributed by the Carole Sund Carrington Memorial Reward Foundation.
4) Mark's SUV was a black 2 door Ford Explorer Sport. Or Lic#SL-14414

Was there any sort of evidence of the crime found in Mark's truck? I know the report states that his truck was found in an area he did not frequent. The assumption, then, is that the truck was driven to the location by the attacker. I feel that the location of the truck has to be in correlation to where the attacker lived (if he drove the truck to the location, how did he get home unless he lived near there OR caught a cab or had someone working with him) or where the body was dumped. Any insight into the area the truck was found? It seems that could be a huge clue....

That wasn't disclosed, but I presume they did find something. I do think the perp dumped the car, since it wasn't found at Mark's house, it was a ways away.
